Bodhi

He'd be a brother for Dexter. What do you think? DP and I love this name, with Bo as a nn.

Interested to hear the general consensus!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
nespressowoo · 01/09/2019 22:51

I know three under the age of two.

thinkfast · 01/09/2019 22:49

I know a dog called Bodhi

Moondancer73 · 01/09/2019 22:48

Love it

bruffin · 01/09/2019 22:48

I actually really like it! Very unusual and unique
Its not unique.
There is a boy called Bohdi Schofield whose mother has spent years on her you tube channel claiming he and his sister have schizophrenia and medicating with inappropriate strong psychotic drugs. Thankfully after her latest tv appearance the children have been put in foster care.

CassianAndor · 01/09/2019 22:47

Point Break

Will he become a serial bank robber??

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 01/09/2019 22:40

You might also like Indigo (indie for short too) 🤷🏻‍♀️

Creatureofthenight · 01/09/2019 22:40

Ah I see.

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 01/09/2019 22:38

I know a boy and a dog both called Bodhi.
It's from Point Break right?
Goes well with Dexter.

Ohyesiam · 01/09/2019 22:36

I think it’s disrespectful to use it unless you are a Buddhist.

burnttoastandjam · 01/09/2019 22:35

I know several Bohdi's and love it.

Hate Beau though. (Also know two of them).

lorinska · 01/09/2019 22:32

I really don’t like it... sorry OP. but my opinion doesn’t matter.

MrBobLobLaw · 01/09/2019 22:28

@Creatureofthenight it's the spelling of Beau rather than the pronunciation that DP dislikes. He says it seems a bit feminine Hmm I've tried to explain.

That's funny @PictureWall! They do sound good together I think. Distinct but complementing. Don't think our DS2 would be doing much surfing though sadly, unless the Thames gets particularly choppy!

OP posts:
Creatureofthenight · 01/09/2019 22:15

If your DP doesn’t like Beau then why would he like Bodhi with Bo as a nickname?

PictureWall · 01/09/2019 22:13

I actually know a family with Bodhi and Dexter.

I know a few young Bodhis. All with surfer parents. Thanks to Point Break it’s a real surfer name.

MrBobLobLaw · 01/09/2019 22:10

Thanks for all the replies by the way, interesting to read everyone's view on it. Lots more of you like it than I expected to be honest!

See I think Bodie seems more like 'body' rather than Bodhi but I'm probably biased! Really don't like Brodie though. DP had a friend called Bode (bod-ay) growing up and wondered if people would mispronounce Bodhi that way.

Haven't seen the Swayze movie either Blush

Glad to see some Bodhi mums on here who have had a good reaction and interesting that you have had people struggle to spell and pronounce it @Junobug I wanna know what your other DC are called since you clearly have great taste.

Funnily enough lots of people said Dexter would probably get more popular but it dropped in the charts this year quite a few places. I've only met 2 other Dexter's.

We also both like Rafael and I like Ellis too (DP is less keen I think)

Just makes me think of the actress Megan fox, she has a son with that name, first time I'd heard it

rainbowlou · 01/09/2019 22:00

I really like it!I know 3 bodhi’s under the age of 6 (2 boys and 1 girl)

LolaSmiles · 01/09/2019 21:53

I really like it, and it's not normally the sort of name i would go for.

MadeForThis · 01/09/2019 21:52

Made me think of the film Point Break too. Like the name.

IveGotAlpen · 01/09/2019 21:52

I have a Bodhi so am biased but have nothing but people saying what a lovely well suited name it is for my little one :)

CloudsCanLookLikeSheep · 01/09/2019 21:51

I quite like it. Patrick Swayze in Point Break was hot!

missmouse101 · 01/09/2019 21:47

It looks awful written down, like you say 'Body.'

cookieandtea · 01/09/2019 21:46

Very of the moment name. I know two, one spelt Bodhi and one spelt Bodie, think it will grow a lot in popularly the next few years... especially in London and Home Counties.

If you love it go for it! Bo is also a cute nn.
