We are currently debating the best middle name for Edward. Our thoughts are either:

Edward William
Edward Oliver

Which do you prefer? Any other suggestions?

Thanks Smile

Edward Joseph
Edward David

I love these names- but separately I think rather than as a combination.

Edward William is quite heavy with "W" sound.
Edward Oliver (any name with Oliver middle name sounds like a hairdresser's to me!!- don't ask me why!)

I quite like short middle names;

Edward James
Edward George
Edward Heath

I know an Edward louis and Edward harry.

NetballHoop · 02/09/2019 00:26

I'm married to an Edward WilliamSmile
Go for it. I certainly don't regret it.

pumkinspicetime · 02/09/2019 00:22

I also like Edward James.

Edward Oliver flows best from your choices.

DramaAlpaca · 01/09/2019 23:38

Whichever sounds best with your surname.

MommaJP · 01/09/2019 23:37

I think both sound lovely.
I prefer Edward Oliver sounds cute !!

What about Edward James ?

Leeward · 01/09/2019 23:30

Edward Walsh

KronksSpinachPuffs · 01/09/2019 23:16

Both flow nicely but I prefer Edward Oliver

Ds1 is called Edward. His middle name is one that I don't think is popular on mn but it's his grandad's name so is special to us. I think it works well with Edward. He's Edward Bryan.
Funnily enough, ds2 is called Samuel so for me Edward Samuel doesn't quite work!
I think Edward William has too many Ws too. We gave our Edward his dad's name (now mine too as we are now married) as my surname started with W and it didn't sound right.
Edward Oliver sounds fine to me.

I also like
Edward James
Edward Anthony
Edward Joseph

Shadow1234 · 01/09/2019 17:01

Edward Albert
Edward Oscar
Edward Jacob

hippy1952 · 01/09/2019 15:25

Edward Arthur!

pumpkinpie07 · 01/09/2019 15:11

Thanks for all the comments and suggestions. I quite like the suggestion of Edward Arthur or Edward Joseph.

DH was concerned that Edward William sounded too "royal" but no one has said that which is interesting!

We very nearly called DS Edward William (he has a different middle name now though)

MrsGilly1 · 01/09/2019 09:49

Hi,

Edward Benjamin
Edward James
Edward Samuel
Edward Thomas
Edward Xander
Edward Zachary

Ricekrispie22 · 01/09/2019 09:35

My DB is William Edward - my parents thought it flowed better that Edward William and I agree.
If you definitely want Edward as a first name, consider:

Edward George
Edward Charles
Edward Joseph
Edward Arthur
Edward Louis
Edward Alexander
Edward Theodore

IckleBear · 01/09/2019 08:51

Edward William!

Edward Daniel
Edward Jacob
Edward Charles
Edward Peter

AppleKatie · 01/09/2019 08:50

Edward Oliver is nice how about,

Edward John
Edward Luke
Edward Jacob/Jake
Edward Thomas
Edward Michael

Northernsoullover · 01/09/2019 08:49

Nothing wrong with Edward William. However Edward Bear is much better Wink

Laterthanyouthink · 01/09/2019 08:47

Edward Albee

It is the name of a playwright but just sounds really good.

BillywilliamV · 01/09/2019 08:42

Edward Bear ...Do genuinely love this, he'll hate you for it thoughSad

ps1991 · 01/09/2019 08:39

I like both your choices, but also Edward Charlie?
