Hi Ladies
Hubby and I were set on one name and everyone we know has turned their nose up and I'm now in two minds.....(the name is in the list)
Which do you guys like:

Arlo
Grayson Carter
Bertie
Georgie Bear
Jaxon Ryder
Rocky Lennon
Albie Koa
Joey

I like the thought of 2 together however will add my dad's name in there too which is William.

What do u guys think?
Xx

Arlo

Lotsofbuttons · 02/09/2019 20:30

Hope your ok OP - some of these comments are brutal!
I like Bertie and although Arlo is quite popular I think it was number 38 on ONS but that shouldn’t stop you naming your baby it if you like the name

IsobelRae23 · 02/09/2019 17:05

Grayson Carter is my fav. Or even Carter Grayson. Don’t like any other others. A lot of the others sound like dogs names 🙈sorry!

MissHenty · 02/09/2019 16:37

Gosh people are being a bit rude but I suppose you asked for opinions?! Hope you’re ok OP!

Anyway I like Arlo. I know it’s getting popular but I’ve not met any in the past 3 years where I live

MrsBertBibby · 30/08/2019 08:32

Great names. For a puppy.

You are making a human, give the poor little blighter an actual name!

Astronica · 30/08/2019 07:46

These are okay:

  1. Bertie
  2. Joey
  3. Albie Koa (Like Albie but not Koa as part of first name)

I would make the second name a middle name not part of the first to improve them heaps.

I like George with Georgie Bear as nickname.
I dislike Arlo, Grayson and Rocky.
I really dislike Jaxon Ryder, the worst of the group.

katesalwayslate · 30/08/2019 07:37

I only like Grayson Carter

Bol87 · 29/08/2019 18:24

Bit harsh Lochlorian - I work for a well known, global law company with an Adonis, a Rocky & distantly a British Randy! All senior in their fields. Their names are all a bit out there but at no point has it stopped them getting a decent job!

I thought Adonis was hilarious at first (he’s really not one) but now it just seems normal. I’ve never thought Rocky was odd but I do still chuckle at Randy. I know it’s a normal US name but it must have been hell as a teenager in the UK 🙈

I like Arlo & Albie & Joey personally. Joey I’d probably use Joseph on the birth cert. But I like Albie in its own right.

Slinkyreptile · 29/08/2019 17:10

Georgie just makes me think of the film ‘It’

Lochlorien · 29/08/2019 17:04

Don't give your son a name that marks him out or dates him to 2019. No footballer, gimmicky, surnames as first name, or popstar names. One day your son will present his CV to a future employer. Don't let him be judged before he has even had an interview. "Oh, how can we take this one seriously, with a silly name like that. He would never fit in or be able to manage staff".

The only dignified one on your list is Joey (Joseph, then he can shorten it if he wishes). The rest are as cartoon character names which will not do him any favours as he grows up. He will not be a cute baby for very long, but will want to be a dignified man.

whattodowith · 29/08/2019 16:57

You’re naming a child not a cartoon character

Brutal Grin.

I only like Arlo.

Frith2013 · 28/08/2019 16:54

Georgie Bear is the worst of a poor field.

hairyturkey · 28/08/2019 14:50

Arlo- nice but vvvv popular atm, might not bother you
Grayson Carter- ok
Bertie- better
Georgie Bear- no. George ok with Georgie bear as a nn
Jaxon Ryder- sounds like a character from Disney
Rocky Lennon- sounds like a boxer if that's what you're into
Albie Koa- Albert is nice, with Albie nn
Joey - my fav

whatausername · 28/08/2019 14:36

I second @Bookworm4 & @GreenTulips Georgie Bear in particular is pretty horrendous. Arlo will date but is the best of the bunch.

FairyDust92 · 28/08/2019 14:28

Don't like Georgie Bear, sounds like a cutesy nickname.
Others are okay except all the names you have put 2 together.
Sorry :(

daffodilrosedaisy · 28/08/2019 14:25

Not too keen on Jaxson Ryder (sounds like a Disney character) or Georgie Bear (reminds me of CBeebies) but the others are nice! 😊

cutie101 · 28/08/2019 14:22

I'm not usually into trendy names, I actually know a Bear, Rocky and Lennon, not mad on them... BUT, having read your post I absolutely love Grayson Carter, the 2 together sound so smart and lovely. You clearly like newer names so really any name will be great as you will make it right, but although I don't usually comment on names post, I love Grayson Carter and had to tell you.

GreenTulips · 28/08/2019 13:44

You’re naming a child not a cartoon character

Bookworm4 · 28/08/2019 13:42

This looks like a comic book list of characters, all dreadful.

georgialondon · 28/08/2019 13:41

I only like Albie from your list

IckleBear · 28/08/2019 13:37

George Arlo

LarkDescending · 28/08/2019 13:08

I like Bertie if short for Albert; Joey if short for Joseph or Jonas.

The others really aren't my style but looking at your list and tweaking a bit I wonder whether you might like Ryder William?

kenandbarbie · 28/08/2019 11:04

I would use any of the actual names that many of these are nicknames for.

Jaxxon is the one everyone hates isn't it!

CatSmize · 28/08/2019 10:51

Arlo and Albie are nice.

Mammyloveswine · 28/08/2019 10:50

I love Bertie... use Albert then you can use both Bertie and Albie Grin

Not a huge fan of Arlo.

I know a few Reggies and Ronnies lately! Charlie goes nicely with William.l, as does Robert (nn Bertie or Bobby).
