Eva without a doubt. It's a timeless classic. My grandmother, who was born in 1906, was called Eva and it's a name that will never date.

WanderingTrolley1 · 27/08/2019 23:59

Eva: pretty and timeless.

Francis: old-fashioned and dull.
Lola: dog’s name.

Heh1991 · 27/08/2019 23:51

Frances- I think it’s gorgeous for a child and an adult. Depending on the child’s personality they can be a Frances, Fran, Frankie etc- so much more scope than the other two names.

Again Lola makes me think of show girl song. Eva is nice but increasingly becoming popular.

PrincessLouis · 27/08/2019 23:28

Frances is lovely, an underused classic

Eva is ok but has been very heavily used over the last say 15 years so will date her to this era / she may be one of many at school

Lola is a bit insubstantial, there’s the song, it also reminds me of Lolita - not good!

Bellatrix14 · 27/08/2019 22:02

I love Lola. I don’t care if it’s apparently a stripper name, I have what some people claim is a stripper name and personally I think I own it! Grin I also know a couple of Lolas whose parents are very well off and ‘respectable’, so I think that view is becoming a bit dated.

Frances is a bit clunky to me, and I really struggle to picture a baby or little girl could Frances. It also instantly makes me think of Dirty Dancing which might be a good or a bad thing for you! To me it’s in the same vein as a name like Josephine, which is always very popular on here. Eva is perfectly nice, but there are a lot of girls about called Eva/Ava/Eve at the moment.

Clettercletterthatsbetter · 27/08/2019 20:53

Frances. It’s strong, elegant and classic. Lola and Eva are a bit faddy, in my opinion.

Bloomburger · 26/08/2019 17:25

Lola sounds like a stripper.

Eva - there are about 20 million, Eva, Evie, Emies, Edies, Ellie, Ella & Elsie's at the moment.

Teachers will be happy to have a kid with a different name and Frankie is such a cool nickname for a little girl.

Frances is old
lola is a dog
eva is nice

daisypond · 26/08/2019 17:17

Could you have picked three more different names!
Frances - elegant, classy, not common. Has the advantage of not ending in an E or A sound.
Eva - Ok. Very nice but a bit dull, popular these days.
Lola - twee and downmarket.

31RueCambon75001 · 26/08/2019 17:03

Frances or Eva

Lola is too flimsy and a bit of a porn name.

AverageMummy · 26/08/2019 17:01

Frances - beautiful classy and rare
Eva - also beautiful but millions of Evie Ava Evelyn Eve etc etc - still lovely though
Lola - horrid

tararabumdeay · 25/08/2019 23:58

Frances nn Fanny - you've got to have posh balls to pull that one off but I know some who have.

Eva.

Frances is nice but dreadful nicknames.

Lola is a bit of a porn name. Or a dog.

BearRabbitPants · 25/08/2019 23:31

Lola. That was on our list for our DD (6 months old now Smile) it was only just pipped to the post by something equally lovely !

user1493494961 · 25/08/2019 22:40

Frances or Eva, Lola is a stripper name.

Tillygetsit · 25/08/2019 22:30

Lola is for strippers and dogs
Frances is a boys name isn't it?
Eva is classy and timeless Smile

DramaAlpaca · 25/08/2019 22:12

Eva is my favourite. I know it's popular but it's elegant, classy & international which is a good thing in my book.

Frances is just a bit, well, boring. And I dislike Fran & Frankie.

Lola is OK, but it's a bit on the twee side.
