Is this name really that bad

I’m vvv fussy w names.
First baby, a little girl. Due 16th September!
And the only name I adore, always have is Everly!
Everly Violet / Everly Rose / Everly Hope / Everly Lyla
Are all in the running, with Rose as mn being my favourite.
I think it’s so pretty, unusual but not ridiculous, or pretentious.
I like Ever or Ev as nn.
DP loves it too, as do the 2 friends I’ve told. Not gonna tell my mam and nan until she’s born as they are... v opinionated :)
So, did a quick google search of ‘Everly mumsnet’ and ummm, it seems 9/10 MNers hate it - despise it with passion in fact!
I am aware it is Beverly without B, Everly brothers etc... but is it rlly that bad?
And if it truly is horrific, any other suggestions?
I don’t like Evelyn. Prefer modern, unique names.
TIA

I loved Elodie? Very pretty!

But everley is fine, if you love it go for it!

Zara9698 · 23/08/2019 21:45

Absolutely love it.

Kungfupanda67 · 23/08/2019 21:44

It’s alright, sounds more like a name than Elodie, which mumsnet seems to love. Not my taste but if I met one I wouldn’t be horrified (once worked with a kid called Wolfgang. That’s bad)

perplexedagain · 23/08/2019 21:44

Why would you? Pick something else please

singleedition · 23/08/2019 21:42

I love it! But I probably biased- my niece is an Everly Charlotte 😂

30not13 · 23/08/2019 21:42

I know an Everly. IT'S a very pretty name.

WilheldivaHater · 23/08/2019 21:41

My first thought was of Erin Everly and Axl Rose, so I would probably go with a different middle name.

I think Everly Violet sounds nicer as well.

timshelthechoice · 23/08/2019 21:41

Awful, so is insisting the child is called Ever but you don't have the spine to name her Ever. Grim.

TiredOldTable · 23/08/2019 21:41

Are you a fan of the Everly brothers music?

Jux · 23/08/2019 21:39

It's fairly awful but hey, your child, your dh likes it as do your 2 friends, so clearly we are not the final arbiters.

katy1111 · 23/08/2019 21:37

I actually like but it doesn't matter what we think. You love it and if it the only name you love then you must have it. There is no name tray everyone's going to love but it sounds like you, your partner and your close family love it so that is what matters. I also love the nickname Evie.

user1493494961 · 23/08/2019 21:33

Awful.

Firsttimemama2017 · 23/08/2019 21:31

Love Everly!

Pinkarsedfly · 23/08/2019 21:30

You love it. You won’t be happy with anything else.

It’s totally inoffensive, quite cool and easy to pronounce and spell.

Just go for it; she’ll be a gorgeous little Everly Rose.

miamiibiza · 23/08/2019 21:30

I like it

daisypond · 23/08/2019 21:30

How about Valerie? Same sounds, different order.

Walnutwhipster · 23/08/2019 21:29

DH's is uncle is called Everard, now that's horrific!

RaininSummer · 23/08/2019 21:29

Unusual but I like it.

tirednhungry247 · 23/08/2019 21:28

Ok so I changed my mind
I'm through and through Mancunian
Say Everly in a manc accent
It's not going to work

RelaisBlu · 23/08/2019 21:28

Have you considered Ottolie which has a similar rhythm?
Or Cecily?

madcatladyforever · 23/08/2019 21:25

Nothing wrong with it. Sounds pleasant. Not weird or pretentious.

MikeUniformMike · 23/08/2019 21:24

It's a bit like Beverley.

PurpleDaisies · 23/08/2019 21:24

Horrible. Everleigh is even worse.

liinnnua · 23/08/2019 21:24

More positive response than I thought wow!

I like it, it sounds pretty and it sounds American but I do like it. I'd go for it and people will just have to suck it up
