Thoughts on this name for a baby girl?
I like McKayla Rose

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ABitOTT · 21/08/2019 23:53

Knew one who was born in 1970 but spelt the traditional way. Think Your spelling looks weird but so does the original!

Bunnybigears · 21/08/2019 23:48

I dislike Michaela it's the same name.

LatteLove · 21/08/2019 23:42

You seriously cannot call your baby “Mckayla”. It’s made up and sounds like limited edition sandwich from McDonald’s

This. Michaela or at a push, Mikayla are better.

StockTakeFucks · 21/08/2019 23:37

There are people making genuine name suggestions such as Icarus, Ptolemy, Rollo and Rufus.

Tbh McKayla is fairly tame.

AverageMummy · 21/08/2019 22:26

One of the worst I’ve seen on here sorry

Jellycat00 · 21/08/2019 20:41

Michaela is lovely! But I really dislike the way you've spelt it, sorry.

manicmij · 21/08/2019 19:01

It's a mess of spelling to lumber a child with. Spell it as it is known at least in the UK.

Headstand · 21/08/2019 18:48

I appreciate I'm in the minority but I like it but then I associate it with Mckayla Maroney who is an incredible and inspirational American gymnast. There are worse things to be associated with but appreciate she might be a bit niche.

GrapefruitGin · 21/08/2019 18:23

Horrendous

SauvignonBlanche · 21/08/2019 18:22

Nice name - awful spelling

EggysMom · 21/08/2019 18:21

How about Mickelor? Grin

Had seen the name a few times on emails at work, always pronounced it in my head as mick-el-or. Then I phoned her, she answered, and introduced herself as michaela. And I felt sorry for her ...

CassianAndor · 21/08/2019 18:16

I think I'd prefer McKayla's mum to a nasty little snob.

diddlediddle · 21/08/2019 17:44

How can you dislike Michaela and like McKayla? They're the exact same sound! Except one is a nice, known name and one is a chavtastic/youneek/American spelling that will immediately position her in a particular (probably negative) way in others minds.

SilverySurfer · 21/08/2019 17:30

Think about what a person would assume about you upon learning that your DD's name is McKayla. My assumption would be illiterate and uneducated.

Michaela, on the other hand, is lovely.

Vasya · 21/08/2019 12:21

Bit too reminiscent of this imo.

McKayla
Sparklypurpleunicornsaremyfav · 21/08/2019 11:23

I really like the name but would spell it (correctly) michaela
Michaela Rose is a lovely name

IHaveBrilloHair · 21/08/2019 11:22

@neon552
I watch that show too.
You can not name your baby after her, she's bloody awful!

whattodowith · 21/08/2019 09:45

Horrid.

poolblack · 21/08/2019 09:31

@SaltedCaramelEverything

Not sure why you have bolded my name?

SaltedCaramelEverything · 21/08/2019 07:08

I know it’s not pronounced like that. Just makes me think it would be when I first saw it that way.

Anyway that’s my opinion and OP asked for opinions. Will be my last post on this thread as going round in circles...

Good luck whatever you decide OP Smile

Namechangeforthiscancershit · 21/08/2019 06:31

Whereas Michaela to be looks like it would be pronounced “Michael-ah”. That’s my opinion anyway...

It's not. I've certainly never heard it pronounced like that.

Juststopit · 21/08/2019 06:18

It’s a bit dated and middle aged woman of a name however you spell it.
Much nicer names out there

SaltedCaramelEverything · 21/08/2019 06:09

**Poolblack

**Heratnumber7

It’s not the same as saying Charlotte looks like Charles. To me there are lots more letters different there. Whereas Michaela to be looks like it would be pronounced “Michael-ah”. That’s my opinion anyway...

Supergrassyknoll · 21/08/2019 01:35

Hideous, please don't do it, I don't actually believe you're totally serious though

pintsizeduck · 21/08/2019 01:30

Michaela. McKayla looks silly.
