Isla is a lovely name but if you're after something that isn't overly used, I'd avoid it - there are loads round here (SE London) and it's been popular for the past ten years if my DD's year at school is anything to go by.

Mabel and Robyn are fabulous names; I'm a fan on names that don't end with an 'uh' or 'ee' sound. Robyn is my favourite of the two.

Robyn

TwoPupsandaHamster · 21/08/2019 20:58

At least 10......

TwoPupsandaHamster · 21/08/2019 20:58

Naming a child Mabel isn't cruel. I've heard of at least baby girls born this year called Mabel (Why??) Mabel seems to be the new Amelia, Ellie, Isla, Nevaeh....

Danglingmod · 21/08/2019 14:41

Of course it's not cruel. It's a perfectly normal name. It's not that unusual, either. I know about six and am related to two.

thatmustbenigelwiththebrie · 21/08/2019 13:26

I'm afraid you can't call a child Mabel. It'd be cruel.

Sophronia · 21/08/2019 00:51

Mabel

Bouncingbelle · 20/08/2019 23:20

Mabel is my "guilty pleasure" name . I love it but am sure a child called Mabel would be teased where i live. The name i woukd most like to be called is Robyn.

tirednhungry247 · 20/08/2019 23:15

Mabel reminds me of a cat

PinkFlamingo888 · 20/08/2019 21:56

I really like them all. I probably like Isla the most but Isla is the most popular so probably one of the other 2. Mabel is very cute and although others have said it’s popular I’ve never met one of any age.

RH921 · 20/08/2019 21:45

I’m a Robyn and have always really liked my name if that helps :).

Also think Mabel is beautiful

Danglingmod · 20/08/2019 21:32
Grin

(I just meant that I personally prefer "correct" spellings of things that are things, like Lily, Poppy, Robin, Wren, whereas Molly vs Mollie doesn't seem a big deal!)

Poochnewbie · 20/08/2019 21:22

...I’d just like to clarify that I do know that a robin is a real thing....

Danglingmod · 20/08/2019 21:16

I know Robyn is the female version but I still prefer Robin even for a girl (because a robin is an actual real thing).

So I would rank:

Robin
Robyn
Mabel

Isla

TatianaLarina · 20/08/2019 21:12

None.

Iris, Iona

Mabli, Matilda, Maëlys

Rosa, Romilly, Romane, Rafaela

17caterpillars1mouse · 20/08/2019 21:11

Mabel

Poochnewbie · 20/08/2019 21:09

Robin is the male spelling and Robyn the female.

missmouse101 · 20/08/2019 21:09

Robyn. Others far too popular, and Mabel is very grannyish.

Poochnewbie · 20/08/2019 21:08

Robyn.
That’s my puppy’s name and I love it. Puppy is my dc#3 substitute. If I’d had another girl, she would have been Robyn.

aibutohavethisusername · 20/08/2019 21:07

Robyn

sugarplumfairy28 · 20/08/2019 21:05

Robyn

LazyDogFox · 20/08/2019 20:44

Mabel :)

daisypond · 20/08/2019 18:47

I really don’t like any. At a push Isla, even though it’s very common. Mabel is frumpy and dreary. Robyn has no redeeming features and will date badly.

lvra · 20/08/2019 18:41

Isla is quite common where we live, Mabel is by far my favourite 💗

ButterflyOfFreedom · 20/08/2019 18:30

Robyn
