What are your thoughts on the name Claudia? I really like the name of a versatile girl name that can travel in many countries and ends with an "A". Any suggestions are welcome Grin

Beautiful name!

Nocturnalpearl · 22/08/2019 01:29

I've just named my baby Claudia and I love it. I do however think it's a bit of a marmite name. I either get raised eyebrows or people gushing over it. I love it and am so pleased we went for it. I think it it's feminine, elegant and unusual without being wacky. I also think it works well as a child but also as an adult. My other child has taken to calling her Claudie which sounds so cute. Go for it xxx

Lovely name. Julia would be nice too.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 19/08/2019 17:30

Like it, prefer Camilla. Met a gorgeous little Camilla at a baby group so that may be swaying me but I do also prefer the sound of Camilla to Claudia.

mistermagpie · 19/08/2019 17:27

We have one in the family, she is Claw-dia with I prefer to cloud-ia.

My favourite girls name is Lydia but we're not using it now because it's too close to Claudia - so maybe that would be a good alternative?

TaraLaraMara · 19/08/2019 17:23

I love it. I still hate DP for vetoeing it Angry

Astronica · 19/08/2019 00:43

I love it. Elegant, strong, timeless.

TemporaryPermanent · 19/08/2019 00:01

Gorgeous.

I have a massive thing for Clara too.

Krisskrosskiss · 19/08/2019 00:00

LOVE!!!

Heh1991 · 18/08/2019 23:58

I dislike it think it’s too harsh and really don’t like the meaning of it either!

What about;

Cecelia
Cordelia
Sophia
Amelia/Emilia
Georgina
Alexandra
Louisa
Selena
Mariana

CedarTreeLeaf · 18/08/2019 22:02

Yes the meaning is unfortunate. I'm not sure if I can get past it, especially if it's obvious to others.

The meaning (claudus - lame/disabled) puts me off unfortunately. It's such an obvious meaning too (in Latin).

DramaAlpaca · 18/08/2019 21:25

I like the name but dislike the meaning.

NoodlesMcGee · 18/08/2019 18:44

Absolutely love it - very elegant, feminine name.

Lucyslampost · 18/08/2019 18:29

I love it. It makes me think of the wonderful CJ (Claudia Jean) in the West Wing Smile

Ellmau · 18/08/2019 18:26

Nice classic and classy name.

AverageMummy · 18/08/2019 18:23

Do you prefer the Cloud pronunciation or the Clawd pronunciation?

Either way I think it’s a lovely name

Gladimnotcampinginthisweather · 18/08/2019 18:04

I love Cloudia, not so keen on Claudia.

daisypond · 18/08/2019 18:01

I really like it.

Chickydoo · 18/08/2019 17:59

Love it!!!

LucieFurr · 18/08/2019 17:57

I’m not keen on it.

TaurielTest · 18/08/2019 17:55

I like it. Pronouncing it the English way (claw-dia) or the most-other-European-languages way (cloud-ia)?

Mintypea5 · 18/08/2019 17:50

Love it (disappointed DH vetoed it Hmm)

MollyHuaCha · 18/08/2019 17:48

Lovely name.

Also Camilla, Laura, Jemima, Saskia, Lucia.

whattodowith · 18/08/2019 17:48

Love it.
