Name you loved but it was just too quirky?

Is there a name you didn’t use because it was just too quirky or “out there” but still love?

I loved Starr, Juniper and Skye, DH vetoed! (Don’t even think those are that quirky, tbh.)

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Ignacio for a boy and Albertine for a girl. Also loved Indiana for DC2 (who is a girl)

Mine all have classic (common-ish) names.

VenusClapTrap · 14/10/2019 18:11

Anemone for dc1. I would totally have gone with this if people on here hadn’t stopped me Grin.
Narcissa for dc2. He turned out to be male, so escaped it, but it turns out it would have suited him SO much Hmm

@mumtobe1984 my DD’s name is on your list. I went through a similar “should I/ shouldn’t I” but we did in the end and I’m SO glad!

I desperately wanted River for DD2 but with our surname, it sounded like the river XYZ. We went with Rain for a middle name.

Lumi is very beautiful and very similar to DD2’s name.

SJP3 · 14/10/2019 09:27

Digory. We loved it but it didn't work with our surname at all to use as a first name. Used it as a middle name though and glad we have!

borntobequiet · 09/09/2019 05:46

Loveday. But I’d use it now. (Was1980s).

Fairybobbin · 09/09/2019 05:20

Sky, skyler, skylar (not that out there!)
Rain, Raine
River
Tigerlily
Bluebell

Peppa and Deacon were on my girl and boy lists for DC2

janey15 · 06/09/2019 20:03

I'm saving this post for ideas - so many of these names are on my list 😂

FWIW I'm a teacher and while we do have a smile (never unkindly I feel I should add) at some of the more unusual names, when you actually get to know the child they don't sound so silly. They become a person not a name.

It does make it difficult to choose your own baby names though 🤔

JuneSpoon · 06/09/2019 14:11

Suebnm are Red, Blue and Yellow siblings or is it a coincidence???

Suebnm · 30/08/2019 14:11

A trio of children that go to my granddaughters nursery are Red, Blue and Yellow. I have only ever met Red and Blue though.
