Hi, I'm looking for a different flower name for a little girl. I already have a primrose so looking for something that goes well with her name. Thank you in advance!

Pansy has a very unfortunate record of being used as a homophobic slur so I really wouldn’t use it!

How about:
Clover
Catkin
Daffodil
Marguerite
Flora
Sage
Willow
Sorrel

Verily1 · 28/08/2019 01:12

Cherryblossom
Ivy
Thistle
Heather
Clover
Honeysuckle

Lyingonthesofainthedark · 23/08/2019 22:45

Veronica

If you like Violet, what about Vinca? I know a Vinca in her 30s. When she was born someone described her eyes as "Vinca blue" and her parents decided that was the perfect name for her.

Thought of a few more....
Bluebell
Petal
Blossom
Poppy
Hyacinth
Flora
Marigold
Ivy
Iris
Belladonna
Bellerose
Callaia
Camellia
Cassia
Clover
Cynthia
Lavender

Pansy is beautiful and quite an uncommon name Smile

Antonin · 22/08/2019 17:07

I knew a little girl called Pansy about 35+ years ago. Beautiful child and the name suited her. I thought it a bit strange until I got used to it as she was just the first of only 2 people I’ve met called that.

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 22/08/2019 16:27

That's so sweet! 🌸

lvra · 22/08/2019 15:14

My name is jasmine and my mum is called fleur, that is what started the flower theme! I do really like pansy, I think it's pretty.

I love the flower peony, but whenever I buy peonies I do think it sounds like penis.

miamiibiza · 17/08/2019 21:02

Posy

WeshMaGueule · 17/08/2019 20:40

Peony > weeny peeny. Don't do it.

MrsKittyFane1 · 17/08/2019 15:31

I love Fleur and Iris

Flamingosnbears · 17/08/2019 15:20

Floria
Amarantha
Magnolia
Gardenia

Ninkaninus · 17/08/2019 14:03

It’s already been mentioned but I like Bryony. I think it goes well with Primrose.

Ninkaninus · 17/08/2019 14:01

I’m sure it’s been said but Fleur Is rather nice.

Otherwise Peony, or is that too matchy matchy?

Oh dear just saw the comments on Peony...

Hmmm, let me read the thread first!

lvra · 17/08/2019 13:57

I do agree with the name peony, the more I think about it the more I think of 'pee on me' 🙈

OP posts:
Antonin · 17/08/2019 12:41

I wouldn’t use Peony (though I love the flower) because it is open to teasing— pee on me etc
I always think of Bluebell when I think of Primrose.
Both relatively unusual without being too out there.

FartnissEverbeans · 15/08/2019 21:48

I love these threads! And I love Primrose.

Peony is very sweet but it sounds too much like ‘pee on me’ Blush

I’ve come across children named Campion, Bracken, Bramble and Samphire (not all flowers but there aren’t many that haven’t been mentioned already!).

Ffion (fee-on) means ‘foxglove’ in Welsh.

Honesty is a flower name too. I actually kind of like it with Primrose.

Willow is lovely but has probably already been mentioned.

Sakura means ‘cherry blossom’ in Japanese.

BikeRunSki · 15/08/2019 20:22

Fair enough, good point @Hopefullysmart.
