Frank?

My grandpa was a Frank and I desperately want to name my next baby after him. Just wondering the general consensus? Is it awful? I have an Imogen, and not entirely sure they go!

I agree, Frankie is nice. I don’t think Frank is much of a 21st century name and not great on a baby.

Sexnotgender · 20/08/2019 15:38

My DS is Francis. Was Frank your grandads nickname or full name?

Only Frank I have known was a Francis.

AverageMummy · 19/08/2019 16:33

Francis is lovely and feels more current

FishCanFly · 19/08/2019 14:19

Love Frank. Francis or Franklin as well.

user1493494961 · 16/08/2019 20:17

Imogen is lovely, Frank not so much. I think it would be better as a middle name to honour your Grandad.

alessandrae83 · 16/08/2019 11:51

Adore Frank

Love Francis too

NameChange84 · 16/08/2019 11:20

I know some baby Franks. I’d agree Francis with Frank as a nn works a bit better or Franklin as a name works better too.

Mouthfulofquiz · 16/08/2019 11:18

Was your grandad a ‘francis’ With nickname ‘frank’?

PickledLilli · 16/08/2019 11:15

Frank seems like a completely different style of name to Imogen IMO.

SayOohLaLa · 16/08/2019 11:12

I love Frank. It works well with Imogen.

DerbyshireGirly · 16/08/2019 10:55

Frank is nice.

funmummy48 · 16/08/2019 10:48

I think it's a cool name & goes nicely with Imogen.

Cbeebiesrehab · 16/08/2019 10:46

I love Franklin and Frank is a cool nn in my opinion. Fits in nicely with all the little Stans, Arthurs etc

LegoPiecesEverywhere · 15/08/2019 23:09

I would go Francis nn Frank

Saharasunset · 08/08/2019 22:52

I have a Frank and we have many affectionate nn him that we use, Frankiedoodle, Frank the Tank, Franchesca

Oh my poor boy Blush

I think it lends itself to children of all ages and there's another boy the same age as him called Franklin who is still called Frank 99.9% of the time anyway

twattymctwatterson · 08/08/2019 22:32

I just can't picture a baby called Frank op. I get that he won't be a baby for long but to me it's like a baby called Gary

Gruntvsgunt · 08/08/2019 22:27

It’s a nice name but it just makes me think of drugs now

ViciousTrollop · 08/08/2019 22:26

Frank is a brilliant name. Solid, traditional, retro and cool without being try-hard.

I have one, he's named after my grandad too 😊.

HATE Frankie for boys but love it for girls .

I say go for it 👍.

Chocolatedaim · 08/08/2019 22:23

Detest frankie but love frank

PolkaDotted · 08/08/2019 21:02

If you like it though and it means so much to you then you should use it.

Lavenderblues · 08/08/2019 20:08

Frank is a great strong solid name! Underused classic.

Frankie is cutesy and twee and more suited to a little girl.

PolkaDotted · 08/08/2019 00:29

Frank is awful. It's such a harsh ugly sounding name.

Kanga83 · 08/08/2019 00:12

I like it, I hate Frankie though. If the name means alot to you then go for it as you won't regret it. My kids middle names are after grandparents. Not to everyone's taste but I can't imagine them with other names and the sentiment outweighs people's opinion.

MadameJosephine · 08/08/2019 00:09

I love Franklin, it’s my DS’s middle name

pinkunicornsparkles · 08/08/2019 00:07

I prefer Frankie xx
