(Thread isn’t meant to offend anyone - MN hates my Dd and Ds names anyway!)

For me it would have to be Cordelia and Juniper.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
tresbe · 07/08/2019 21:52

@LadyWithLapdog haha I was just reading that thread and thinking I don't like any of these names! If it's the top three girls names one.... but I doubt many people would like my top 3!

LadyWithLapdog · 07/08/2019 21:43

There’s a considerable overlap between this thread and the recent one about favourite names.

OhMyDarling · 07/08/2019 21:33

papit · 07/08/2019 21:31

Can confirm mine, my daughter’s and my sister’s have cropped up! Enjoying this

katy1111 · 07/08/2019 21:23

Haha yes I'm also lurking here to see if mine has made it Grin. I don't mind if it does though. I don't find it a bitchy thread at all, it's just a bit of fun isn't it!

pollysproggle · 07/08/2019 21:22

My eldest is Caden!

I completely understand the hate around this name and names that sound like it. I too feel the same about the use of this name ☹️

Years ago I went to America and met someone called Caden and really liked the name and the spelling, I'd never heard of it and looked it up. It means spirited and is not a made up name at all.
He is in secondary school now and the only one with his name (same in primary) but I hear it all the time now and always with a different spelling variation like Kaiden or Kayden never ever spelt the original way which makes me feel like it's tacky as they still all sound the same.

I call him Cade mostly, he likes his name which is the important thing but I do sometimes wish I made a different choice!

Kungfupanda67 · 07/08/2019 21:03

Oh now I’m on 2 out of 3.

Weirdly the one I thought might be on here isnt

ems137 · 07/08/2019 21:02

Kai - sounds like someone sneezing

Mabel - reminds me of Auntie Mabel and Pippin the dog

Arlo

Lexi

Jayden

Morgan - just awful

Tiredtessy · 07/08/2019 20:53

Jonah...hideous

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 07/08/2019 20:53

Harrison. But it was my SURNAME before I was married, so that's explicable.

-Mae/-May/-Rae/-Jo. Just hyphenated first names in general. Ugh.

BikeRunSki · 07/08/2019 20:49

I have a completely irrational dislike of Charlotte.

LegoPiecesEverywhere · 07/08/2019 20:46

I don’t love every baby name @ bbgxd but I would never slate a poster’s name choice which is absolutely the point of this thread. I often comment on the baby name board and if I really dislike a name the worst I would say is not keen.

formerbabe · 07/08/2019 20:44

Really dislike the trend for old man/lady names..

Mabel
Ethel
Edith
Percy
Etc

Comes across as unbearably try hard and hipster.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 07/08/2019 20:44

I have a Molly, but Molly Mae is ridiculous.
They’re both from the same name Mary,
Mary Mary Quite contrary. Why don’t parents think.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 07/08/2019 20:42

Arlo makes me think of Milk.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 07/08/2019 20:41

Arthur. Ella. Lily-Mai/Mae/May. Amber. Evelyn. Alfie. Margot. Ophelia. Nancy. Bella.

VenusTiger · 07/08/2019 20:41

It’s only personal if someone says “hey you! I hate your name and that of your child”
And even then, so bloody what.
We’re discussing which names we don’t like the sound of, not people we don’t like good grief!

HoldTightandPretenditsaPlan · 07/08/2019 20:41

Nevaeh... Horrendous! Confused

Ikeameatballs · 07/08/2019 20:40

Arlo and Margot.

Don’t get the sudden rise in popularity for either of them.

I do love Cordelia though!

LegoPiecesEverywhere · 07/08/2019 20:38

Yup agree @tartanlass1

Horrible thread. Mumsnet is becoming the Dailymail comment section.

bbgxd · 07/08/2019 20:38

If this offends you, you need to grow a thicker skin. I've seen my daughters middle name here. I don't care

Do you like every single baby name? If course not.

VenusTiger · 07/08/2019 20:37

Never had a conversation like this in RL then? Wouldn’t bother me if MN didn’t like my DC’s name

VenusTiger · 07/08/2019 20:36

Don’t like Amelie - it’s Amelia or Emily!
Hate the May/Mae/Rae horrible!
Never liked William as don’t like Will (too old sounding and sharp), Wills, Willy or Liam
Henry
Lily
Nate
Mia (pro Me-ah) do actually like Mia (pro My-ah)
The ‘Den’ endings
Evie

tartanlass1 · 07/08/2019 20:35

What's it got to do with anyone what someone else calls their child?!

Who made you all the name police?!

LegoPiecesEverywhere · 07/08/2019 20:33

Yet another let us sneer at other people’s chosen names for their newborn cunningly disguised with not meant to offend anyone. Mumsnet at it’s worst.
