(Thread isn’t meant to offend anyone - MN hates my Dd and Ds names anyway!)

For me it would have to be Cordelia and Juniper.

OP posts:

Hyphenated names
Old man names especially in cutesy form like Reggie, Albie etc

Boys names for girls. I like girls names with a masculine shortening like George fit Georgia, Frankie fir Francesca. But not girls called James.

ChelseaCat · 07/08/2019 19:22

@CookPassBabtridge - why snobby?!

firawla · 07/08/2019 19:18

I don’t like the ones with a harsh G - Margot, Greta, Gretal and so on.

MangoSpice · 07/08/2019 19:15

Ivy to me sounds harsh and 'jaggy'. Also Ivy Tilsley.

CookPassBabtridge · 07/08/2019 19:14

Snobby fuckers. It's become a hate thread rather than your 'intended' one.

ChelseaCat · 07/08/2019 19:12

Great thread idea!

Agree with lots on here - especially the ....den names and double barrel names (especially with May/mae or flowers). I also hate the name Raine

Lots of the names I really like are on here too 😂

Ginandgingers92 · 07/08/2019 19:10

perpendiculartriangle · 07/08/2019 18:56

I don't like names like Maisie, Phoebe, Poppy, Daisy, Evie. Just too cutesy too me, cute on little girls yeah but not so much when they're older

Fuiseog · 07/08/2019 18:52

Names with two flowers in a row! Which flower are you calling her after? Is she a lily or is she a rose?! Identity crisis! 😂🙈 I think I really overreact to this and usually I really like the names individually, but just dislike two together of the likes of Daisy/Lily/Rose/Ivy/Iris etc.

Also not a fan of a name that becomes a really specific description when the first and middle are said together. Think Winter Rose or Autumn Rain or Summer Daisy or whatever. Again, often I like the individual components of the name; it's the combination that irks me!

Apologies if this offends anyone - I do think I have a overly strong reaction to these names and it's just my opinion, not fact! As the thread says, it's names I don't get the hype for when people love them - very much just my taste!

Anything with a Yoonike spelling to prove how --twattish— cool the parents are.
Currently know an Emilie a Summa (British parents - I did wonder if it was a foreign name) and Kayte.

CarrieBlu · 07/08/2019 18:40

Aurora and Arlo. I really, really cannot stand them, they just don’t sound right to me!

All of the Aurora’s and Arlo’s I’ve met have been lovely children though. Its just my personal taste.

MummyOfTwo92 · 07/08/2019 18:39

Arlo became popular after the good dinosaur came out. I'm sure that's where people have got it from.

Herewego93 · 07/08/2019 18:37

There's a baby at my nursery called River poor girl. It just doesn't sound nice to me at all.

IHaveBrilloHair · 07/08/2019 18:36

Anything really popular starts becoming a random sound rather than a name.
