(Thread isn’t meant to offend anyone - MN hates my Dd and Ds names anyway!)

For me it would have to be Cordelia and Juniper.

Nothing against popular names in general. They are popular because lots of people like them and IMO often much nicer than 'unique' names just for the sake of being a bit different...

Talkwhilstyouwalk · 14/08/2019 22:56

Penelope Envy

Jade218 · 14/08/2019 20:32

Alfie and Archie

Also Lola - reminds me of Lola Ferrari, the porn star from Eurotrash, I can't be the only one??

Or Lola...the showgirl from Copacabana(!)- The Barry Manilow song. That’s probably an age thing though 😏

Okurrrrrrrr · 14/08/2019 19:04

Louis - something about it just makes me feel 'ick'

@Ginandgingers92

Absolutely! I couldn't give a fig what people think - we love them.

To be fair I think 90% of the top 100 names have been mentioned so far 😂

Ginandgingers92 · 14/08/2019 16:48

@MadeInCornwallx3 but if you like them, that's all that matters, surely? 🙂

MadeInCornwallx3 · 14/08/2019 16:27

Wow! All three of my children's names have made an appearance and I love them all individually.

Even the most recent Ottilie - shock!

This is a really poor form thread, nothing to come out of it other than slagging off other people's choices.

I hope everyone feels better now 😂

slippermaiden · 13/08/2019 14:49

I e read the whole thread... neither of my children's names, or my husbands are meantioned 😗. My name is only mentioned as a popular name of someone in their 40s! 😂

loudnoises1 · 11/08/2019 22:05

Noah and Jonah, both make me cringe for some reason.

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 11/08/2019 21:56

Oh god yes Wren & Ottilie Hmm

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 11/08/2019 21:54

Freya

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 11/08/2019 21:53

Kai

DrFoxtrot · 11/08/2019 21:52

I agree with PP who mentioned Juno, I think it sounds awful. To me it's manly, like Bruno.

LoafofSellotape · 11/08/2019 18:20

Ottilie's pronounced Ott-il-ia, not 'Otterly' (or 'Ottily')

That's even worse!

CatteStreet · 11/08/2019 17:33

Ottilie's pronounced Ott-il-ia, not 'Otterly' (or 'Ottily').

I love Emily. It would quite possibly have been my dd's name had it not been so very popular.

puttingitalloutandabout · 11/08/2019 12:35

I hate Emily for some reason I always assume an Emily would be shy, dull and very boring the sort that lets people walk all over her.

midsomermurderess · 11/08/2019 12:24

Emily. Dull, insipid and everywhere.

kidsdoingmyheadin · 11/08/2019 12:21

Albie. It's not a proper name and I've heard it so many times recently

I think it depends I know Alby & Albi both not English & they are proper names & not short for Albert

velocitygirl7 · 11/08/2019 12:16

What a mean and pointless thread! Sad

IlluminatiParty · 11/08/2019 12:14

Ella. It's so boring!

cookiechomper · 11/08/2019 12:11

Albie. It's not a proper name and I've heard it so many times recently. Also, Delilah. There seems to be a craze for all baby girls born near me being called it and to me it sounds like a mouthful.

BelleMaya · 11/08/2019 10:20

Agree with the older lady names. Maude, Dotty etc.

LoafofSellotape · 11/08/2019 08:45

And I'm still not convinced that Ottilie is a real name rather than some MN in joke
It's hideous,like Utterly butterly.

slippermaiden · 11/08/2019 08:19

For me it would be Brooke and Kai. I just don't like the sound of them.
