I NEED A VERY GIRLY PRINCESSY NAME (for my bulldog!)

I get to collect my girl bulldog puppy in a week today and the breeder would like me to confirm the name I’ve chosen, which I still haven’t done. I want a really girly feminine name for her!
So far on my list I have:
Colette (Coco)

Suggestions please!

Still strongly disagree with your choice.

Compounded somehow by wanting a cutesy name. Priorities all wrong.

Thank you all!
To the people concerned about my choice of breed, I appreciate your concern - I really do - and understand where you’re coming from. I have not made this decision lightly or on a whim. The breeder I go to is very sensible - kennel club approved, each girl only has one litter in their life time, and the puppies are 100% pedigree with no crossbreeding whatsoever. They are in the best possible shape, and none of the puppies produced have been known to have health issues at this present time. (Breeding is something the lady does on the side every so often - she has another job).

I already own an almost 5 year old male bulldog from the same breeder. I have had him since a puppy and he has been a dream from day one. I would say I’m very experienced with bulldogs now - I realise what they can and can’t do etc. My mum has a 12 year old girl (Nancy) from another responsible breeder and she is very healthy.

I only ever support the purchase of bulldog / french bulldog / pug puppies from very specific sensible breeders, and the care for the dog is very very important. You MUST have experience or do research.

  • Asphyxia!! isn't that strangulation. Fixie's cute, though.*

Not exactly. It means 'a condition arising when the body is deprived of oxygen, causing unconsciousness or death; suffocation.' - a comment on the breathing problems which can afflict animals bred with excessively short faces.

I agree about not getting a brachy dog. It is well known that they live a life of pain and discomfort. Only live about 8 years and cant give birth naturally. Poor things.

@neon552
I’d like to say, as a vet, please choose a breed that isn’t destined to a lifetime of suffering because you want it to look cute...
The mother will require an unnecessary anaesthetic and surgery because you’re financially supporting her breeding.

Your puppy will likely suffer from some degree of chronic breathlessness, neurological disorders, eye disease and joint problems....

As an adult she will never be able to run, or play or experience the simple joy of being a healthy dog.

Please don’t support suffering
