I like Juliette and William

Jellycat00 · 11/08/2019 07:36

Lovely names, although my least favourite are Dorothy and Juliet. There are some names I've never heard of but they sound lovely.

Luxesoap · 03/08/2019 12:39

Tabitha and Alisdair are my favourites. Followed by Martha and William. Not keen on the others, especially Domnhall which reminds me of abdominal said quickly.

Icklepup · 03/08/2019 10:03

I like Dorothy

gregoire · 03/08/2019 09:47

That's pretty, I like it!

How about Muireann? I've heard it pronounced 'Mir-ren' and 'Mwi-ren'?

gregoire · 02/08/2019 15:15

Elspeth is lovely!

Merryn is a Cornish name that makes more sense

Might make more sense in Cornwall, but not Scotland! It's very pretty though, lovely spelling.

Love Tabitha, and like Juliet and Martha.
How about Elspeth?
Love Alasdair from your boy's list.

Frith2013 · 02/08/2019 12:05

James / Jamie - ok
Adam - dull
William - ok
Arran - nice
Domnhall
Alasdair - no
Aengus - no
Artair - looks like Arthur spelled wrong

Frith2013 · 02/08/2019 12:03

Tabitha - ok
Martha - bit dull
Dorothy - no
Mirren - no. Sounds like you’ve got a crush on Helen Mirren. Merryn is a Cornish name that makes more sense
Isbel - no
Juliette - no

Ewanthescreamsheep · 02/08/2019 11:57

I like Alisdair, Juliette (prefer Juliet spelling) and Mirren best from your list.
We have an Alistair. If he'd been a girl he would have probably been either Juliet or Merryn (similar to your Mirren), with Lillian as a middle name.

Astronica · 02/08/2019 11:13

I love Ishbel, Juliet (much prefer this spelling) and Tabitha.

Boys - I love Domnhall, Aengus and Artair, and I like James, William and Alasdair.

NoSauce · 02/08/2019 08:39

All the girls apart from Dorothy ( which imo is one of those names that will date like Betsy, Maisie, Elsie and Alfie )

Adam, William and James from the boys list.

gregoire · 02/08/2019 07:42

Also Mirren is a girl's name in Scotland! Never heard of the football team but might be an association lots of people have

gregoire · 02/08/2019 07:41

@daisypond I actually agree with you on the spelling, not sure why I typed the french version!

daisypond · 02/08/2019 07:23

All your girls’ names are fine, apart from Mirren - a male saint - and Juliette, which is naff unless you are French. Juliet is lovely.
I like Ishbel a lot. Miren is not a Japanese marinade. It’s mirin. Mirren for a boy is better, and I rather like it, but what about the football team?

joystir59 · 02/08/2019 06:34

They are all ok. Miren is a Japanese marinade. Tabatha is a cat's name.

Barbarafromblackpool · 02/08/2019 06:33

Tabitha is lovely. And actually, I've never met a cat called it...

Aeungus

gregoire · 02/08/2019 06:29

Matilda is lovely! Thanks for the suggestion

OP posts:
whattodo2019 · 02/08/2019 06:27

Tabitha
Martha
Alasdair

Haz1516 · 02/08/2019 06:24

I like Tabitha and Juliette for the girls. Like James, Adam, William and Arran for the boys. How about Matilda to add to the girls list?

userabcname · 02/08/2019 06:21

I love Tabitha and Juliette. William is my favourite on your boys list.

gregoire · 02/08/2019 05:53

Thank you everyone! I really love Tabitha but my husband agrees that it's a cat name so might have to ditch that one 😭 but I love Mirren, William and Artair a lot ❤️

Really like Arran and Mirren too. Smile
