I've seen that description every now and then on baby name threads. I know what it means but can't think of examples beyond Araminta. What do you consider to be "pony club" names?

@AverageMummy yes well aware how expensive- I spend more on the horse than the mortgage!! But most people are competing on a shoe string. We’re all mad! But I get cross that people think we are all “rich”. We just have different priorities Wink

@Megan2018 It is an extremely expensive hobby so not accessible to those without funds. There are some fab charities running lessons etc for children in deprived areas so hopefully it’ll change.

It’s not literally the names of pony club attendees Grin its just a way of saying a posh name

NoHummus · 29/07/2019 20:44

It's mainly nonsense posted by people that know absolutely sod all about pony club but perpetuate a myth that it is only for very posh kids. it isn't.

I was a pony club kid. My name is not posh and neither is my family! My daughter will probably be a pony club kid. We are broke (because we spend too much on horses).

Gustavo1 · 29/07/2019 17:02

Tabitha or Octavia.

Just ‘posh’ names really!

ChaChaDeGregorio · 29/07/2019 17:01

Jemima
Camilla
Arabella

Passthecherrycoke · 29/07/2019 17:00

It just means jolly hockey sticks posh. Pref something that can be shortened to a boys name like harri, Percy, Georgie.

Or something pedestrian and classic like lizzy, Kate, Phoebs

PixieLumos · 29/07/2019 16:58

I’ve never heard of this. What does it mean?
