What gender do you see these names as or do you see them as unisex, I’m asking because I often see unisex names as a girls name or boy name and there’s very few I can see as either:
Logan
Rowan
Reese
Wren
Jordan
Taylor
Robin
Spencer
Ellis
Avery
Eden
Blake
Blair

I know there’s hundreds more but off the top of my head these are what I can think of.

Logan - boy
Rowan - either
Reese - boy
Wren - girl
Jordan - boy
Taylor - either
Robin - either but with a y for a girl
Spencer - either but better for a boy
Ellis - either
Avery - girl
Eden - girl
Blake - boy
Blair - girl

Taylor, Wren and Robyn are girls' names.
Eden and Jordan are unisex, I think.
The others are boys' names in the UK, although that wouldn't be the case in America.

Logan male
Rowan unisex
reese male
Wren female
Jordan unisex but ruined for both by Katie Price
Taylor unisex slightly shading female now to TaylorSwift
Robin unisex
Ellis male
Spencer male
Avery unisex but slightly more female
Eden not really a name
Blake male
Blair male

17caterpillars1mouse · 28/07/2019 20:34

Logan - boy
Rowan - could go either way but prefer on a boy
Reese - girl if this spelling. Reeve or Rhys is a boy
Wren - girl
Jordan - either
Taylor - boy
Robin - either
Spencer - boy
Ellis - boy
Avery - boy
Eden - girl
Blake - boy
Blair - girl

PantsyMcPantsface · 28/07/2019 20:11

The Eden/Ellis/Rowan/Avery I know are all girls (although Avery brings to mind paper labels every single time I hear it)

Robin I tend to think of as male (again probably association), Robyn as female - and I have a Robyn - just because I preferred the spelling of it that way.

opinionminion · 28/07/2019 19:22

Eden Wren Taylor and Robin girls names (I know of one of each bizarrely) !!!

MadameJosephine · 28/07/2019 19:01

To me Logan and Spencer are most likely male and Wren female but the rest could be either

finallychangedmyusername · 28/07/2019 18:58

I'd expect all of these to be boys/men aside from Wren, who I'd expect to be female and Eden where I wouldn't have an expectation either way (I.e. I think of it as unisex).

Pineapplefish · 28/07/2019 15:32

That was in reply to Colourfulest btw.

Pineapplefish · 28/07/2019 15:32

Really?? To me these are mainly famous people / fictional characters. The only ones I know in real life are Logan (boy), Robin (boy), Robyn (girl) and Blair (boy).

CakeRattleandRoll · 28/07/2019 15:31

Logan - boy
Rowan - boy
Reese - girl with this spelling
Wren - girl
Jordan - either, but leaning towards girl
Taylor - girl
Robin - either, but leaning towards boy with this spelling
Spencer - boy
Ellis - boy
Avery - girl
Eden - girl
Blake - boy
Blair - girl

Colourfulest · 28/07/2019 15:26

mintich · 28/07/2019 15:01

Rowan -boy
Reese -girl boy if Reece or Rhys
Wren -girl
Jordan -boy
Taylor -girl
Robin -boy Robyn -girl
Spencer -boy
Ellis -boy

Eden -both

Marcipex · 28/07/2019 13:29

I know a male Eden in his fifties.
Two girls of 8-10 called Eden, but in different schools.

Skyejuly · 28/07/2019 12:42

I see Robin as Male and female
I often see it spelt Robyn for girls but I like both spellings.

Drogosnextwife · 28/07/2019 12:32

Logan boy
Rowan boy
Reese. Boy
Wren. Girl
Jordan. Boy
Taylor. Boy
Robin. Boy
Spencer. Boy
Ellis. Girl
Avery. Girl
Eden. Girl
Blake. Boy
Blair
. Boy

If I had to pick genders for them, that's what I would pick, but most of them I would usually see as unisex.

IsadoraQuagmire · 28/07/2019 12:32

All boys names apart from Wren and Avery (only because it's Bella Thorne's middle name)
Obviously I know of girls named Rowan, Eden, Taylor and Jordan - and I know a female Robin, spelled Robyn- but I would still think of these as Male names first.

Kenworthington · 28/07/2019 12:28

Logan- boy
Rowan- boy
Reese- both
Wren- girl
Jordan- both
Taylor- girl
Robin-boy
Spencer-boy
Ellis-both
Avery-boy
Eden-girl
Blake-both
Blair-boy

SemperIdem · 28/07/2019 12:26

I would assume Wren and Eden were girls unless told otherwise.

Rowan I see as genuinely unisex.

The rest I see as male names. I think calling a child Blair these days would be making quite the statement and it wouldn’t be “I liked Gossip Girl” in the UK, more “I like war criminals”.

BamBamBam · 28/07/2019 12:16

I see most as girls names.
Logan, Reece, Jordan, Ellis and Avery I would say are boys, but that might just be because I've only ever met men with these names never women. The rest I think are beautiful girls names (Wren is on my shortlist for a girl along with Noah - which I know most people see as a boys name)

HoratioNightboy · 28/07/2019 12:11

Logan - boy
Rowan - unisex
Reese - boy
Wren - girl
Jordan - boy
Taylor - neither
Robin - unisex
Spencer - boy
Ellis - girl
Avery - no opinion, never known of one
Eden - unisex
Blake - boy
Blair - unisex

I also see many "unisex" names as one sex or the other, then I go and do a bit of research on it and find it is often the other sex that it's mainly used for. I don't know if it really matters though.
