Like the name but unsure how popular it is.
My sister Laura had four others in her class at school!

I know a toddler named Albert. I think it’s cute at the moment - not sure how great it will sound for a teenager or a man in twenties though.

ChihuahuaMummy1 · 29/07/2019 15:11

One age 10 and it really doesnt suit him,its much too outdated now imo

Dinosauratemydaffodils · 29/07/2019 14:59

I know one, he's coming up for 2.

Pinkout · 29/07/2019 14:57

Yes a friend of my Mum’s had four daughters all named after colours. She kept having children until she got a son basically, the fifth was finally a son and she named him Albert. Quite random after the set of colours but hey ho.

fedup21 · 28/07/2019 22:29

Yep-there are 6 at my school currently (all in EYFS/KS1). Three prefer being called Albert, two Albies and one Bertie.

BackforGood · 28/07/2019 22:25

Neighbour, who is about 3 is a 'Bertie' - I presume he is Albert, but don't know for sure.

I have to use a database with several thousand pre-schoolers on it, and I don't see many Alberts.

SimplySteveRedux · 28/07/2019 22:04

I know of one, goes by Albie, late 20s/early 30s.

isittheholidaysyet · 28/07/2019 21:59

2, both approximately the same age. Must be about 2 years old by now.

RiddleyW · 28/07/2019 21:55

I know a 4 year old Albert but generally called Albie. I’ve heard a few Albies in playgrounds, don’t know if they are Alberts really or not.

msophie95 · 28/07/2019 21:52

I’ve only ever known one Albert. I believe he’s 21/22 now. Albie on the other hand I’ve heard a lot of! Definitely prefer Albert Smile

PantsyMcPantsface · 28/07/2019 20:11

One - aged about 7 - he's awful (sly little bully type) and his mother is even worse.

MissHenty · 28/07/2019 18:55

I only know of one (friend of a friend), so it is very likely he will be only one in his class

Laura was a very popular name in 1980s and there’s so many more names in use now than there was then. Even the top name now (Harry), there isn’t a single Harry that I have come across (I know there must be many because it’s the most popular name, but in the 1980s the most popular names like Dave and Nick and Dan you’d have always had many per class)

Frith2013 · 28/07/2019 14:06

I knew 3 but they’ve all died (of old age)

Skyejuly · 28/07/2019 07:47

I know one age 5 and one age 3

Disfordarkchocolate · 28/07/2019 07:45

I liked it for my youngest, husband told me what a 'prince albert' was and it put me off. Love Albie though.

Pineapplefish · 28/07/2019 07:42

I know two aged 9/10, one called Albert and one called Bertie. Also a dog called Albie.

FenellaMaxwell · 28/07/2019 07:40

I know 2 at nursery - one is 2 and the other 4. Then I know 2 adult Alberts outside of nursery - both in their mid/late 30s. Both go by Bertie.

carriemathisonshandbag · 28/07/2019 07:35

Don't think I know any Alberts, but I know 4 Albies, all pre school age

Rolypolybabies · 27/07/2019 23:22

Albert 4 Sheffield. Seems to be a few about, but not many. Where does it rank in top.100?

Chocolatedaim · 27/07/2019 23:15

Yes I know of one in NE LONDON, he is 7

LarkDescending · 27/07/2019 22:10

I know two: one adult (late 20s) and one toddler.

cakesandphotos · 27/07/2019 22:03

I know two Alberts and an Albie. All under 7

Fink · 27/07/2019 22:03

And a couple of Ailbes, Irish spelling.

Fink · 27/07/2019 22:01

Alberts: I know 2 children and 2 adults (1 young adult, 1 old).

IncrediblySadToo · 27/07/2019 21:59

An 8yo Albie, but I think he’s Albie on his BC too (friends nephew)
