oh sorry, Lola is quite nice, but there seem to be a lot of Lilahs, Lyras, Laylas, Lilies etc knocking around. It may just get lost amongst them.

Cleo Beatrice has a nice ring to it.

macbooksticker · 27/07/2019 19:46

@MidnightVelvet9 Which awful York woman? I’m intrigued Grin

I'd go with Cleo or Beatrice.

I love Margot, but it seems to be gaining in popularity a bit, if Mumsnet is anything to go by!

Ava and Elle are quite blah to me. Honey I find a little OTT and Darcey a bit... down-market (sorry).

Ava - like but very popular
Honey - more of a nickname?
Margot - vintage feel which is on trend, ok
Elle - like but lots of Ellies around
Beatrice - very popular, it's ok
Cleo- like
Darcey - I've always liked this name
Lola - makes me think of Copacabana but it is a nice name

MidnightVelvet9 · 27/07/2019 19:35

Hi OP, please don't take offence, it's not meant to be rude :

Ava - will always be Ava S in a class full of Eve/Evie/Evey/Elle/Ellie/Elly/Ava/Eedie. I think it will date horribly.
Honey - to some, will always be a stripper name although I think it's sweet
Margot - yuck
Elle - see Ava
Beatrice - horrible, reminds of the dreadful York woman
Cleo - Cleopatra or a cat name, no
Darcey - reminds me of Mr Darcey, is a man's name to me although I do know sisters Honey & Darcie in RL
Lola - the Kinks song about the "walked like a woman but talked like a man".

May I suggest Florence & Juliette xx

MamaFlintstone · 27/07/2019 19:34

I know a huge number of Ava/Eva/Evies so that puts me off Ava.
I find Darcey a bit common (but my opinion is clouded by 2 specific children with that name).
Lola is a cute nickname but I wouldn’t use it as full name.
Margot is your mum’s 55 year old neighbour.
I like Cleo and Beatrice and Bea is a lovely nickname for a little girl.
Don’t mind Elle but prefer Ella.
Honey is a name for a cat.

Atlasta · 27/07/2019 19:31

Ava- very popular. Prefer Eva
Honey- ok for child not sure for an adult woman.
Margot- hate it.70s/ 80s wannabe posh woman with hostess trolley
Elle- ok but too close to the common Ellie
Beatrice- I just don't like the sound or look of it
Cleo- cat. Egyptian.
Darcey- ok but I think it will date badly
Lola- I like but do wonder about it suiting an adult. I'd choose it as a mn.

Beatrice and Cleo are the best of the bunch. Honey and Lola are awful.

IsobelRae23 · 27/07/2019 19:27

I meant my pets name!

NannyR · 27/07/2019 19:26

I like Ava - I know it's very popular but I don't come across many under fives called Ava (in my area anyway). Beatrice is lovely, with Bea as a shortening. Not keen on any of the others.

IsobelRae23 · 27/07/2019 19:25

Ava- pretty, depends on how you will pronounce it. Very very common.
Honey- No. cute for a baby, not for an adult
Margot- hate, looks like Maggot
Elle- don’t like. Or Ellie. Very common.
Beatrice- ok.prefer Beatrix
Cleo- pretty
Darcey- I like. Marmite name
Lola- cute. my let’s name

MikeUniformMike · 27/07/2019 19:22

Ava - overused and I don't like it
Honey - nice to eat but a bit sickly
Margot - ok but likely to be overused
Elle - ok but a bit nothingy. Just Her in French.
Beatrice - fine. The best on your list
Cleo - nice.
Darcey - awful
Lola - a bit too nicknamey

macbooksticker · 27/07/2019 19:15
