Ava - was going to use if we had a girl but the popularity is kind of changing my mind for any future DC

Honey - noooo sounds like a stripper.

Margot- Love

Elle - If a nickname for Eleanor yes but on it's own?no

Beatrice- prefer Beatrix

Cleo - No

Darcey - No

I would go for Margot

Frith2013 · 29/07/2019 00:16

Ava - Braun
Honey - no
Margot - in every single last thread on here. Maggot or escargot. It’s a dreadful name.
Elle - ok
Beatrice - nice
Cleo - ok
Darcey - no. I like Dulcie, though.

bringbackfonzi · 28/07/2019 22:55

Eliza and Cleo much the nicest, imo.

JonnyPocketRocket · 28/07/2019 21:44

Ava - lovely, but very popular atm (not necessarily a problem). Prefer Ada.
Honey - good call taking this off the list 😉
Margot - love
Elle - fine. A bit meh.
Beatrice - cute! Like the Bea shortening. Also like Beatrix.
Cleo - feels like a pets name.
Darcy - dislike. For some reason it brings up a lot of ungracious assumptions about intelligence levels and social class in my mind (though that's probably more a reflection of me than the name).
Maia - nice, but people will forever need to be reminded whether you've gone with may-ah or my-ah as the pronunciation.
Esme - ok
Eliza - cute!
Isla - nice enough.

17caterpillars1mouse · 28/07/2019 21:00

Ava - it's pretty but I think it will date badly
Honey - really not a fan sorry. I would hate this to be my name
Margot - meh
Elle - nice but too short for my tastes
Beatrice - my favourite from your listb
Cleo - really dislike
Darcey - not a fan. Prefer Darcie spelling

IVflytrap · 28/07/2019 00:58

Ava - pretty, but so many of them right now. So, so many.
Margot- classy, fashionable, bit of an edge to it right now, which it will lose as it starts to get more popular. I still like it though.
Elle - boring
Beatrice- classic and elegant. I like it.
Cleo - Love it
Darcey - boring and uninspired. So many.... about 10 years ago.

Maia - OK. No strong opinion, maybe a bit bland.
Esme - Pronunciation issues. Very popular 5 years ago.
Eliza - Love it
Isla - See Ava

Shadow1234 · 28/07/2019 00:47

Esme and Darcey are my two favourites

macbooksticker · 27/07/2019 22:48

@Peachee That’s a lovely name! If you want Primrose though, why not just use your surname? Unless there’s a similar problem haha

OP posts:
Peachee · 27/07/2019 22:33

I really love honey too. Everyone all my family and friends hate it so I've decided sadly not to have it.
I've chosen Amelia Primrose if it's a girl now. I think Amelia is very popular but I feel like it is a good strong mix of modern and traditional. I wanted primrose but OH surname is price and everyone feels it's a bit much.

LarkDescending · 27/07/2019 22:13

Eliza’s the star of your list - lovely choice.

KirstyT11 · 27/07/2019 21:52

Ava - nice but I think quite popular
Honey - cute but as an adult?
Margot - love it
Elle - not too popular but actually really nice
Beatrice - nice maybe a bit posh
Cleo - not sure- reminds me of a cat.
Darcey - nice.

Margot and Elle deffo my faves from your list.

Nonameyet1 · 27/07/2019 21:26

Ava - like
Margot - like
Elle - nice but there are a lot of Ellies and Ellas but I really like Elle

Beatrice - no, just don’t like the sound of the name
Cleo - no, it’s a car
Darcey - ok

You additional names - Eliza is my favourite of those.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 27/07/2019 21:25

Love Darcey and Cleo

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 27/07/2019 21:13

Ava. Okay
Honey. Really dislike. It seemed to peak and date very quickly, well.
Margo Awful
Elle. Okay
Beatrice. Okay

ElfishBiatch · 27/07/2019 21:03

@Robs20 I just looked them up out of curiosity and Eliza was the 41st most popular name in 2017, and Esme was 42nd!

Icklepup · 27/07/2019 20:17

Definitely Eliza.. that's lovely!

ElfishBiatch · 27/07/2019 20:08

Eliza is by far the best

IggyAce · 27/07/2019 20:05

Ava: nice but popular
Honey: no just awful.
Margot: I like this but it’s popularity is on the rise I believe.
Elle: ok
Beatrice: I like this, elegant.
Cleo: no
Darcey: not a fan

Fatkins · 27/07/2019 20:04

I only know one Eliza. I think she is 4yo. If you wanted, you could put Elizabeth on the BC and call her Eliza. Then, you / she would have the option to use another shortening when she's older. There are so many with Elizabeth. Lizzy, Beth, Betty, Betsy, Elle etc etc.

macbooksticker · 27/07/2019 20:01

@robs Yeah, I like that about Eliza. DSD2 friend is called Eliza and she’s 15 but that’s the only one I know

Robs20 · 27/07/2019 20:00

Love Eliza and Esme. Eliza is my dd’s name and I haven’t met another one yet. Esme is getting more popular.
