DD is Esmé, what do you think of Elodie or Liberty as a name for another girl? Does it go with Esmé? Or other suggestions! Thanks xx

Or similar first syllable with Esmés second syllable like Freya?

Derbee · 27/07/2019 17:17

With a strong Eh sound in Esmé, other pretty (and different initial names) that I like are

Heather
Penny
Genevieve

Do remember some will hate whatever you choose.
Others that might appeal:
Olive

Madeleine
Eleanor
Marnie
Bethany

Liberty!

Thank you all so much for your opinions and being honest! I am really struggling to find a girls name to go with Esmé, that is both pretty but also unique! We like Amelia and Olivia also but feel they’re a bit too common but i agree my worries are with Elodie it is too similar and Liberty is too different! Hmmm back to the drawing board I think any more suggestions welcome Smilexxx

Liberty.

TheRedBarrows · 27/07/2019 08:05

Both lovely.

Liberty goes better with Esme.

HeronLanyon · 27/07/2019 07:44

Agree not same initial - I have experience of this within family and it can be a pain.
Liberty and Esme feel very different to me. I think they’re the kind of names where each may wish they had the other or wonder why the difference.
I like both. Just not together I think.

eurochick · 27/07/2019 07:39

Elodie is lovely. It was one of our top three names for a girl.

GenerationYmember · 27/07/2019 07:25

I love Elodie. Beautiful.

Liberty not really keen, Statue of Liberty springs to mind and I am not a fan of Libby.

Lunablue765 · 27/07/2019 05:51

Hello my first Is called Elodie I think it's a very pretty French name keep in mind you will get people say ooh like melody but without the M 😏 used to drive me crazy. But of your two choices I'd pick liberty as it flows better alongside esme x good luck picking a name is so hard x

Derbee · 27/07/2019 03:59

I love both names. Although I wouldn’t have two children with the same initial. I know from experience that as they get older, they will constantly be opening each other’s mail etc.

Much nicer to have different E Smith and L Smith rather than 2 E Smiths imo

Shadow1234 · 27/07/2019 03:25

I love both. Elodie is a very pretty name, but maybe a bit too much with Esme.

Equatoria · 27/07/2019 00:04

Of the two I prefer Elodie.

coatlessinspokane · 27/07/2019 00:03

Elodie for sure

Tillygetsit · 27/07/2019 00:02

Liberty is better as I think same initials sound a bit twee. Gabrielle?

Lobsterquadrille2 · 26/07/2019 23:23

I like both but Liberty is more of a contrast with Esme.

AverageMummy · 26/07/2019 23:16

Don’t really like either but I don’t think Esme and Elodie work well as siblings - they’re extremely alike

Lydia or Melody are a mix of the styles you like?
Other suggestions: Alba, Olivia, Cassia

dogshitcars · 26/07/2019 23:12

Both dire. You did ask.

TemporaryPermanent · 26/07/2019 23:01

I like Liberty more than Elodie but they're both nice.

username1724 · 26/07/2019 23:00

I love both, Liberty/Libby just about wins for me though

AllTheProsecco · 26/07/2019 22:28

I love Elodie and we have a Libby who is Elizabeth but could also know a Liberty who is Libby.

KronksSpinachPuffs · 26/07/2019 22:23

Elodie :)

TFSRM · 26/07/2019 22:22

Neither are particularly nice
