Love Liliana, savannah and Valentina! Gorgeous names op.

TatianaLarina · 23/07/2019 21:10

Ines - trying waaay too hard

?? Trying hard to do what?

Half Spanish mother considers popular Spanish name.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 23/07/2019 19:30

I loved the name Anaïs when I was a dreamy teen. In reality the horrific mispronounciation to ‘Anay’ is more than enough to put me off sadly!

I quite like your list overall and know how to pronounce them all upon first sight. I love Valentina an Viviana - Vivi is a gorgeous nickname.

nothingtowearever · 23/07/2019 19:26

I actually really like Amor. I used to love Amalia but I've gone off it now

JungtheForeman · 23/07/2019 19:17

I like Ines, Aurora and Amalia

Atlasta · 23/07/2019 16:25

Valentina and Luna are lovely

MikeUniformMike · 23/07/2019 16:23

-Liliana - not keen, too long and frilly
-Savannah - ok but Sav.
-Ines - nice
-Alaïa (ala-EE-ah) - Have you thought of Shanelle. Armani etc
-Anais (an-I-is)- again not keen. Anaya is nicer.
-Aurora - Too many Rs
-Amalia (am-ah-lee-ah) - Nice but too similar to Amelia?
-Amor - Just no
-Valentina - Val
-Viviana - Vivisection
-Luna - Tic

PRichardson · 23/07/2019 16:22

Auora. Not keen on the rest but whatever you and your partner like is all that matters x

Fatkins · 23/07/2019 16:18

I love Valentina and Luna! Not keen on the others.

dreichhighlands · 23/07/2019 15:02

lady Amor is a word it means love. You may not much like it as a girls name, I don't think I really do, but it is definitely a real word.
The OP talked about using Spanish names in her post.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 23/07/2019 14:48

Liliana - Lillian or Lily much nicer!
Savannah - boring
Ines - trying waaay too hard
Alaïa - ugh, why?
Anais - trashy
Aurora - Disney twee
Amalia - Did you misspell Amelia?
Amor - not a word, let alone a name
Valentina - prissy and pretentious
Viviana - Vivian/Vivienne instead?
Luna - Harry Potter associations...

ladyisabelle · 23/07/2019 14:38

I like Ines, Valentina, and Aurora...any of the ones that included a pronunciation guide are probably just setting her up for confusion. Even with the explanation I’m not sure how you’re pronouncing them

RoseMartha · 23/07/2019 14:30

Liliana and Savannah

dreichhighlands · 23/07/2019 14:21

Don't pick a name that needs a phonetical explanation beside it. You are setting your dd up for a lifetime of having to do this.

17caterpillars1mouse · 23/07/2019 13:59

I like Ines and Viviana. Viviana is my favourite, also like Vivi or Viv as a nn

Pinktinker · 23/07/2019 13:55

Anais, Ines and Luna are nice. Not keen on any of the others.

FindaPenny · 23/07/2019 12:15

Liliana.... Its nice but more than likely will be shortened to lily

-Savannah..... Not keen

-Ines.... Will it be pronounced eye-nez or ee-nez.... I prefer the ee pronunciation, but still not keen
-Alaïa... Don't like it
-Ana is.... Don't like it
-Aurora..... A bit too fairytale
-Amalia.... Really don't like it
-Amor..... Really don't like it
-Valentina.... Like it, unusual and pretty
-Viviana.... Nice, but hate viv
-Luna.... Nice but very popular

Bobbiepin · 23/07/2019 11:50

Anais is typically pronounced Ah-nay is the UK so be prepared for that to be mistaken.

I would also look at Alaïa and think Ah-lie-yah (which is very pretty but not what you want). Liliana is pretty if you are ok with nn Lily.

Agree with PP if you need phonetics you're setting these girls up for a life time of mispronounciation.

SleepingStandingUp · 23/07/2019 11:46

-Liliana - on my list
-Savannah - lovely
-Ines - meh
-Alaïa (ala-EE-ah) - if you need to do phonetics for pronunciation, then it's a no
-Anais (an-I-is) - see above
-Aurora - on my name list
-Amalia (am-ah-lee-ah) - not keen. Amaya is prettier
-Amor - no no no no no
-Valentin a - no and hate Val or Tina even more
-Vivian a - no
-Luna - realllly sweet, not on my list as my friend has one

anon812 · 23/07/2019 11:43

Also doesn't Luna mean moon in Spanish? She might be teased?

anon812 · 23/07/2019 11:43

Honestly, I don't like any of them. If I had to pick, Valentina

userabcname · 23/07/2019 11:23

Love Anaïs and Viviana

TatianaLarina · 23/07/2019 11:19

Inés
Anaïs
Aurora
Valentina

Lovely names OP.

TeaAddict235 · 23/07/2019 11:08

They are all lovely apart from Luna, which isn't a respectable/ sensible adult name.

You are probably realising op that on MN lots of people seem to gravitate towards boring English names like Catherine, Emily, Anna, Elizabeth and Charlotte and so will not like any deviation from the ideology of something wholly english. Choose your cultural name with pride and forget what others think (me included).

SoftBlocks · 23/07/2019 10:48

Sorry Anais.
