I've only ever known lovely Kirsties.

AverageMummy · 28/07/2019 10:21

Sounds dated & not in a posh way - maybe a similar vibe to Danielle? I’ve only known lovely Kirsty’s though which I feel I need to throw in to counter some other experiences above!

MadisonAvenue · 28/07/2019 08:58

I was at school with a Kirsty who wasn’t very nice at all so that spoils the name for me.
She’s now an estate agent.

cookiechomper · 28/07/2019 08:52

Kirsty was the name of loads of brassy girls in school so reminds me of that and it's also plain and bland sounding.

SnowdropFox · 28/07/2019 08:11

Lovely name. I knew a number (there were 4 in my class alone in primary school) since I was born in the 80s in Scotland it's not a surprise!
The only young Kirsty I know is 7 now.

Chocolatedaim · 27/07/2019 23:12

Kirsty bullied me at school, it’s sad but I can’t see the name past that horrible person

KirstyT11 · 27/07/2019 22:42

First time I've ever seen my own name suggested on one of these places. Interesting to hear what people think.

I only know of older kirsty's, not come across a baby one as yet.

AdelaideK · 23/07/2019 12:21

I like it. It is an 80s name but I met a toddler called Nicola and a 8 year old called Danielle recently so it's nice that my childhood friends names are coming back.

LottieLucie · 22/07/2019 22:34

I love this name!

welliesarefuntowear · 22/07/2019 22:09

My DD is 17 and is Kirsty. She's beautiful. So I think it's a beautiful name because of my own beautiful daughter. A lot of English people are really snotty about the name but it's strong and reflects my Scottish family, as my dad is Scottish. If you love it, go for it, but some people can be really rude on here about names.

Undeadpool · 22/07/2019 22:03

I really like it, but then I do love all 80s names like Keiley, Stacey, Lauren, Nicola.

Skyejuly · 22/07/2019 21:06

I love Kirsten.

unlimiteddilutingjuice · 22/07/2019 19:29

I've got a Kirsty.
Its classic in Scotland and just a bit 80's everywhere else.
It would be good to see a Kirsty revival though

boosterrooster · 22/07/2019 19:27

Tiny bit dated for me but a lovely name

whatstheplanphil · 22/07/2019 19:27

I love it .

Pieceofpurplesky · 22/07/2019 19:11

I teach a Kirstie and a Kristie - Both lovely names

daisypond · 22/07/2019 19:05

I like it. Traditional Scottish name.

Changedname81 · 22/07/2019 19:01

Hahah crusty? Fab! Thanks peeps Grin

The only thing I don’t like is “Kirst” as a pp said it makes me think of Cursed .

Plus on the phone people hear it as Cathy.

Kirsty isn’t so bad but I wish I was a Kirsten, it just seems a bit more grown up.

It was a close call though, for about an hour I was a Kylie... 😆

Frith2013 · 22/07/2019 14:59

Very old fashioned.

Dull.

Makes me think go crispy and crusty.

Sakura7 · 22/07/2019 14:09

I'm not keen on the sound of it, but I think comments like "all the ones I've known were bitches" are silly. If those girls had been called any other name, they still would have been bitches. I knew two horrible Jennifers in school, but I'm sure there are lots of nice ones out there too.

I've known three Kirstys, ranging in age from 22 to 40. All very bubbly, outgoing people, the two older ones are massive party animals, and all of them are really nice genuine people.

Yaflamingalah · 22/07/2019 13:59

I’m not keen. It’s a very 80s name to me and the Kirsty’s I knew at school were very rough around the edges.

NorthEndGal · 22/07/2019 13:57

I love it, but I'm biased, as it's my god mothers name

Aquamarine1029 · 22/07/2019 13:51

I really dislike it. It's ugly sounding for one, and I knew two of them and they were both horrid people.

Pinktinker · 22/07/2019 13:48

Awful 90s name. Went to school with a few, they weren’t the nicest of folk...

formerbabe · 22/07/2019 13:48

Very 80s. Kirsty would have read the Jacqui magazine and had a perm.
