Which is the best and worst out of them as we can't agree and she's due September?? Thanks thought or anything would be a help or any suggestions and middle names to? Smile

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Marnie - Not too bad.
Ruby - I like Ruby. I would pick this or Alicia (spelt with a c).
Gracie - I like Grace. Could always call her Gracie day to day?
Ella - Nice, but lots of them about
alisia - I like it spelt the "proper" way - Alicia.
Sophia - Nice, but lots of them about again!
Britney - awful
Dolcie - Dulcie is ok, never heard of Dolcie, is that a misspelling?
Lauren - ok but feels dated to me! (just trends though isn't it)

Icklepup · 24/07/2019 13:51

Marnie! Or Maisie?

RockyChoccyRoad · 23/07/2019 23:30

I have an Ella. Never been in a class with another one, she’s actually the only one at her primary school. Name doesn’t get shortened to anything. When she was very small it got lengthened to Ella Bella but now she’s 10 it’s very definitely just Ella. Like you I’m not fond of Elle or Ellie.

If you like Louise as a middle name how about Eloise?

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 23/07/2019 23:25

What about Layla?

(Because you like Lorna & Lola)

Bossbabynx5 · 23/07/2019 23:16

@IsobelRae23 bit negative ahah well I like like louise as a hypenated or middle name I know it's common but who cares! Out of them I do love Anastasia tho! Hallie is a relative so couldn't aleah also so no go! And I love leah to but I've know 3 or maybe 4 very well so that's would be like naming her after them. Alannah/alana I liked but then met 2 who were both awful people so no! Annabelle I hate it reminds me of the doll, quite like brooke/brooklyn , all the rest I hate sorry except for esme , ebony , alexis , ariana is okay is suppose but far to Ariana grande! Remy is okay but abit weird and footballerish, I like rae as a middle name not first. Tegan is soo chavy lmao. Quite like Lorna

Marnie - Nice but getting popular
Ruby - Can't get past the Ruby Murray connection
Gracie - Grace, not Gracie - ok but not a huge fan (and what if she's not full of grace?
Ella - ok
alisia (said like al-lis-iya not al-eesh-a) - awful, and that's not how you spell it anyway
Sophia - lovely
Britney ,- awful
Dolcie - shouldn't it be Dulcie? I like Dulce, but not Dolcie
Lauren - Nice, but prefer Sophia

My opinion, no offence intended:-

Gracie will be called Grace, besides it sounds babyish for a women in her 40’s. Marnie is cute, I like it, all the Marnie’s I know are over the age of 70 or have passed away. Ruby isn’t great. Lauren is very 80’s, I was in school with several- and none of them nice for some reason. Lola was my pets name. Ella is so over done it’s like the old Emma and Sarah- 6 I’m every class. Sophia again 6 in a class it’s so popular. Dolcie don’t like prefer Dulcie a little more. Britney, very 90’s, American and chavvy. Alisia is pretty but you will forever be correcting her name. Oh and Louise is such a boring middle name (it’s mine), in my high school form room out of 17 girls, 14 had Louise as a middle name- how much imagination our parents had!

So my suggestions are;-

Annabelle, Anais, Alexis, Avery, Arianna, Anastasia, Alannah, Aleah, Brianna, Brooke, Cassia, Cerys, Celeste, Esme, Eden, Eliza, Ebony, Freya, Gianna, Hallie, Imogen, Isla, Juno, Kayla, Layla, Layne, Leah, Luna, Lorna, Lowri, Mila, Mia, Matilda, Nova, Nia, Orla, Portia, Quinn, Rae, Remy, Rochelle, Samia, Savannah, Tallulah, Tia, Thea, Thalia, Tegan, Via, Willow, Xavier, Yana, Zara

Not everyone in the world is like that tho I'm just nice to people if they are to me 😊

Bossbabynx5 · 23/07/2019 22:30

@OhTheRoses thanks so much! I take that as a massive compliment☺️ I still kinda think you're not being serious tho as I was abit rude about your daughters name😁nah I'm like that cos I'm just not thick as shit like some people!

OhTheRoses · 23/07/2019 11:21

I wasn't being sarcastic - it shines through.

Bossbabynx5 · 23/07/2019 11:11

@OhTheRoses aw thanks! Unless you're being sarcastic can't tell if u are but yeah I try to be I'm a naturally good natured person🙂 unlike some people in the world sadly I've come across.

I have known one Ella. She was divine. Not short for anything. She died not long ago in her 80s. OP she was The Hon Ella. Her father was a Lord (Baron). She giggled at everything and twinkled and aparkled throughout her entire life. She bestowed happiness. I had forgotten her name was just that. She was v v posh but the most down to earth woman you cd ever meet.

luckyorange · 22/07/2019 19:36

I really like Marnie and Lauren! Also I don't think I've seen those names at all at nursery or in baby groups. Although I know some adult Laurens.

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 22/07/2019 19:23

She's mid teens.

TBH, I didn't realise just how popular it was at the time, but like I said, we don't know or meet (m)any other Ellas.

You'll have to come back in September and tell us what you've called her!

Is it your first baby?

OhTheRoses · 22/07/2019 19:10

May I suggest Jane. Or Joy. You sound such a good natured joyous soul op

Bossbabynx5 · 22/07/2019 16:16

@alwaysonabloodydiet it just puts u off tho would be weird to call them that ! I do love ella tho, how old is she exactly when was she born didn't know it was popular for teenagers? And oo is just reminds me off saying who's this emily that keeps popping up on your phone! the stupid slag haha! Some people say it weirdly to like without the i? So I never know if it's it's said like em-il-y or em-ly if u could get what I mean. Before her I knew one other emily! And an emelia and I did love her name just don't like Amelia spelt like that tho even tho that's probably the more popular spelling. Think amelia and amelie are to to posh not my taste

OP posts:
AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 22/07/2019 15:56

Sorry OP, but I'm laughing at you disregarding and disliking names, based on people you used to know 😂
Other than Emily of course, we'll scrap that one!

She has only ever been called Ella, and I just asked her and Yes, she likes her name Smile

Bossbabynx5 · 22/07/2019 15:25

Is ruby not abit to like that song that goes ruby ruby ruby ruby tho if your saying lola is ? .. hahah🤣

OP posts:
Bossbabynx5 · 22/07/2019 15:23

Why are so many people against marnie tho?? 😂🤷🏼‍♀️Don't see what's wrong with it

OP posts:
Bossbabynx5 · 22/07/2019 15:22

Also what does she get for short ellie/elly or elle? Cos I HATE the name ellie thinks it's awful and someone put me off to so yak!

OP posts:
Bossbabynx5 · 22/07/2019 15:19

I've known a few Ruby's maybe about 3, one was a twin with a girl called Erin but I've not known any well so it's not a problem, It's quite common tho. I like Cheryl as a middle name to for some reason always have ahah.

OP posts:
Bossbabynx5 · 22/07/2019 15:17

@alwaysonabloodydiet I still think a middle name does matter even tho it probably doesn't get used much, do not get me started on emily! Emily was the girl sleeping with my ex behind my back so no chance!! known a few sophie's and not been keen on any of them so no way, emma known a few liked one sort of wasn't so keen on the other so that's a no even tho the names quite nice I wouldn't use it myself, known an amelia wasn't keen and it sounds to posh I think, know an anna she's lovely but not keen on the name it's to plain, and amelie this woman I didn't really like years ago daughter was called that so nah. Haha I'm so picky sorry don't like them suggestions but I love ella! Was it hard to choose from ella and sophia? and does she like her name?

OP posts:
AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 22/07/2019 14:43

DD is just 'Ella'. 'Sophia' is her middle name.

It's funny because she got a letter today: Miss Ella Sophia (surname) and I thought of this thread. I hardly ever see her names together. The time before that was probably the last time I looked at her passport Smile

That's why I'm always a bit baffled by how much thought people give their child's middle names, it's not as if they're ever really going to be used or known.

I love the names Ruby & Louise.

Some other suggestions:

Emma
Emily
Anna
Amélie
Amelia
Sophie

Bossbabynx5 · 22/07/2019 14:23

What does yous think of lola-Louise or ruby-louise ?
