The ones we like are lola , marnie ,ruby, Gracie , Ella , alisia (said like al-lis-iya not al-eesh-a) sophia , Britney , dolcie, and Lauren. Which is the best and worst out of them as we can't agree and she's due September?? Thanks thought or anything would be a help or any suggestions and middle names to? Smile

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 25/07/2019 19:10

I know it's not to everyone's taste, hear me out... 😬

Sapphire is the birthstone for September. Idea for a middle name?

I think Ruby is July.

My son was born in September. It's a great month to have a baby Smile

I named another one of my daughters 'Rose' as her middle name.
That's also frowned upon and considered common on here 🙈 But I think it's beautiful after any name

Bossbabynx5 · 25/07/2019 18:00

What do yous think is a good middle name for gracie ?

@OhTheRoses yeah u are old enough to be my nanna then! Lol I LOVE cheryl probs not for a first name tho was planning on maybe using that as her middle name aswell as louise but that could be double barreled. Your daughters about my age haha! Yeah I remember in my primary school there was a Lucy in my year and a Hannah actually a few Hannah's by the time I was in high school, and an antonia a few years above me, aswell as a Rosie , and francesca older than me and one much younger who was my friends sister I quite like that acctually, but they just got called fran. My class was like mostly Jessicas, Chloes,Courtneys,Sophies,Leah's , Melissa, Erin, Emily, Emma, Beth/bethan/bethany, Billie, McKenna, Ellie , Jodie, Charlotte, Rebecca that was soo popular there was like 4 to name a few that girls names I can remember that were popular

My aunties acctually told me she wanted ella for her oldest daughter (9 now) but wasn't allowed to call her it by her baby daddy! so she ending up being Hannah.

@OhTheRoses yeah but a girl I know called her baby lily and she was only born end of last year so it would be like I was copying her a little bit. and I'm not sure about sophia now. Marnie and ella defenitely tho!

OhTheRoses · 25/07/2019 12:51

Ha ha bossbaby. I probably am just old enough to be your grandma then. I think the short list should be:

Sophia
Lily
Marnie
Ella

My class 60s: Susan, Angela, Jane, Fiona, Amanda, Helen, Beverly, Lynne, Cheryl, Sally, Lizzie, Heather, Claire, Debbie, Julia, Alison.

DD's early 00's: Imogen, Rosie, Francesca, Antonia, Alice, Hannah, Elizabeth, Maddie, Edith, Christabel, Louisa, Matilda, Phoebe, Lucy

Interesting how trends change.

Bossbabynx5 · 25/07/2019 11:45

@FrancisCrawford my mams middle name is marie well actually it's double barrelled so her name then -marie but she doesn't use it or anything! She doesn't even like it and neither do I it's so dated and 70s (when she was born) plus met a marie I didn't like much but again she was in her 40s haha.

@Bossbabynx5 to be honest I hated Bella and was v glad when people stopped using it! I know a couple of Sophia’s and neither get shortened to Sophie

Bossbabynx5 · 25/07/2019 08:52

@OhTheRoses not keen on tessa at all it reminds me off some girl who lives on a farm in texas who's dads a farmer.

OhTheRoses · 25/07/2019 05:20

What about Tessa?

ArtichokeAardvark · 24/07/2019 23:01

Not a huge fan of any of your names but Sophia or Gracie are the best of them.

Please don't call your child Lola - forget Copacabana, there's a famous song by The Kinks about a transvestite called Lola getting a boy drunk and taking his virginity...

Bossbabynx5 · 24/07/2019 22:14

@BowiesJumper no it's not a misspelling, is it ment to be dulcie I dunno? Not sure don't u say it like dolcie tho anyways? it's to confusing alreadyConfused

OP posts:
Bossbabynx5 · 24/07/2019 22:08

Funny thing is I've liked the name ruby since I was about 12Smile

@RockyChoccyRoad oo no I hate bella! Do u like that bella or anything like that? That's so popular now and I hate ellie to why would anyone call there kid that!? ellie was the ex bestfriend (who turned out to be a massive sly bitch) and I'm not keen on eloise used to know one and she was like in her 30 I knew her kids well on of them and nieces etc so just reminds me of her. I think it sounds like air-louise which is just weird lol. Think there was a girl in my primary school called it to she was much younger than me tho ,I don't hate elle as much but not a fan it just reminds me of that elle woods from that big film legally blonde haha.

Bossbabynx5 · 24/07/2019 21:51

@BowiesJumper noo I don't like grace for some reason!! However gracie I love maybe thinking it's also abit weird and childish for a grown adult? A girl I know(family friend) but not well so it's fine to copy a little bit called her 2 daughters alicia(but said like al-is-iya) and grace officially like on her passport birth certificate etc but they just call her gracie most of the time.

OP posts:
Bossbabynx5 · 24/07/2019 21:46

Anyone know any sophia get called sophie for short? cos that's what's putting me off the similarly cos I hate hate hate that name!! Only known one I liked hah.

OP posts:
Bossbabynx5 · 24/07/2019 21:43

I was thinking about lola guys and although I love I thought it was abit childish and just sort of inappropriate for when she's a grown women? Am I right or not.

OP posts:
Bossbabynx5 · 24/07/2019 21:41

@AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet yeah it is! and I will do! Think she should have a name for when she's born tho she can't just be called baby for days or weeks really can she or 42 days after she's born which is how long u have to decide, doesn't seem right. I've never known an ella ever! It does kinda remind me of that Rihanna song tho a long time ago if u know the one I mean ahah, and layla thanks for the suggestion but I'm not keen think I've known one and she was a bratty little girl! and what would I call her for short lay? just not for me for some reason lol

@Icklepup omg hahah I hate maisie! I used to known this crazy physco girl called maisie acctually think u spelled her name like maisey and we used to call her crazy maisey lmao😂! So dont fancy giving birth to 'crazy maisie' laughing just thinking about her ahaha and known 2 including her and tbh it's just known as abit of a sketty chavy name where I'm from didn't like the other one either.
