DH and I are both from nordic countries. We love the name Tilde. Please tell me your thoughts on it.

Do you pronounce it Till-duh or (like previous poster) Till-day?

I like the Till-duh pronounciation, Tilly for short. I can't stand Matilda as a name, though. Many will presume she's actually a Matilda.

Is it not short for Matilde/Matilda? (Even if it isn't in Norway, I think people would think it was and get your DD's name wrong all the time.)

Sounds like Matilda so should be easy enough, I think it’s cute. How do you feel about Tilly though?
