Need a name with a star theme

Right we have a beautiful baby girl who is 2 weeks old, we are registering her birth next week so we need to find a middle name that we both agree on and like..
however there is lovely back story that me and dh both saw a shooting star before we found out we were expecting, so we would love for her middle name to be star themed, something like a star name or a type of star etc, we have seen a lot but nothing is quite right.. any ideas? Thanks!

I know Estrella is a beer but my SIL is Stella and tbh I never really make the connection when talking to/about her. (She wasn't intentionally named after a beer, it's a V common name in her culture)

How about simply using star as the middle name?

TigerDragonMonkey · 18/07/2019 10:37

How about Oriana? It doesn’t mean star but it’s a nod to your Orionid reference :)

Seren is a lovely name but if you live in wales it is very common at the moment
I love all the starry sounding names though!

Blackcountrychik83 · 18/07/2019 10:19

I know someone with a Daughter and her name IS Starr!

DeadDoorpost · 18/07/2019 10:15

There's nothing to say you can't use Orion as the name. My sister has a male middle name.

Bellatrix is a star in the Orion constellation. Although obviously has links now to the HP character.

BabloHoney · 18/07/2019 10:14

I know an Anastacia who goes by the nickname Star!

NiLunNiLautre · 18/07/2019 10:08

Estrella is a beer, though!

Then again, so is Stella.

I’d avoid beers if I were you, OP

Booboo66 · 18/07/2019 09:08

I love Estrella (pronounced es tray a) it's a Spanish name meaning star, but it depends on DD's first name obviously whether it would go.

I think that she will grow up and mature, and that the sort of date that she will do will be of the going on a date kind.
By names dating I mean some names are fresh and new when they are given, but seem awful after a few years.

Corcra · 18/07/2019 09:04

I love Seren.
Stella.
Réaltín (pronounced rail teen) is an Irish name meaning little star.

pinkmagic1 · 18/07/2019 09:03

Negma is Arabic for star and used as a girls name.

Floopily · 18/07/2019 09:02

Anusha?

SleepingStandingUp · 18/07/2019 09:01

Ooh Halley is a good call

SleepingStandingUp · 18/07/2019 08:57

Aurora or Serin.

Most names date. Thats ok
So will she

Footburl · 18/07/2019 08:56

Thank you! So many nice names, I love Nova but unfortunately when put with my girls first name it's also the name of a make of bra 😂 not ideal, Seren and Vega are also lovely.
@Howmanysleepstilchristmas I hadn't even thought about seeing what meteor shower it was! Thank you for the idea, it was actually late October which I have just searched for which was the Orionids shower, can't think of any names that are similar to that, however apparently the shower is made by debris left from the comet Halley, which is a lovely name and a good link

Estelle, Estella.

Seren is a name that will date badly. It looks quite nice but the english pronunciation isn't pretty. Serrun. Just a bit Karen, Sharon, Shannon-y.
It's just the word for star recently adopted as a name.

Colourfulest · 18/07/2019 08:22

My dd's middle name is Soraya which is derived from an ancient Persian name/word (Thurayya) for the pleiades aka the seven sisters constellation.

We also liked Cassiopeia and I like Celestia too.

Howmanysleepstilchristmas · 18/07/2019 08:21

Leonie
Leona
Leah
(Assuming the leonid meteor shower in November 18- peaked around 17th/18th- based on dates)

rachelgrace · 18/07/2019 08:21

I know someone called Vega and it means star

moonpiggle · 18/07/2019 08:19

Same, Seren! So pretty and girly too.

Shadow1234 · 18/07/2019 08:16
