I wouldn’t say no negative connotations, exactly?

Militantmartha · 16/07/2019 20:21

Middle class boho name made popular by Jude Law. No negative connotations. Raf or Raffy we nn are nice too

BarryBarryTaylor · 16/07/2019 20:19

Yes posh boy, eton, Tory

OKBobble · 16/07/2019 19:39

Try hard made up name

Disfordarkchocolate · 16/07/2019 19:35

Once posh now try hard or celeb follower.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 16/07/2019 19:34

Wannabes for parents. It's very try hard

ImportantWater · 16/07/2019 19:33

A character in a Jilly Cooper novel. I’m not saying there is one. Just that’s what the name makes me think of. Probably because “raffish” could describe many of them...

DoraleeRhodes · 16/07/2019 19:31

I think of Jude Laws son, really like the name.

MikeUniformMike · 16/07/2019 19:30

The opposite of posh (not allowed to use the ch** word)

Elvesdontdomagic · 16/07/2019 19:29

A bit square. The opposite of a Cool skater boy called Luke or Zach. He would probably have red hair.

Hecateh · 16/07/2019 19:19

Baker Street

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 16/07/2019 19:09

A little boy who will be called Raffy by his man bun wearing SAHD while taking the Bedlington Terry called Colin for a walk.

Heratnumber7 · 16/07/2019 19:07

Gerry Rafferty

BendydickCuminsnatch · 16/07/2019 19:05

Yes, raffia!!!! I always wondered why I associated Rafferty and straw.

powershowerforanhour · 16/07/2019 19:02

Sean Rafferty who used to read the news.

HeronLanyon · 16/07/2019 19:01

thearms I’ll bet he grows into it. Apols we can’t all like the same names ! Congrats.

HeronLanyon · 16/07/2019 19:00

Surname. I know raffertys.
As a first name think it’s very very ‘consciously different’ and naff - sorry. In the uk that is. Think in us is rather different.

happyhillock · 16/07/2019 18:58

Gerry Rafferty

Equatoria · 16/07/2019 18:55

Posh, floppy hair, skinny

TalentedMsRipley · 16/07/2019 18:50

Um, my new baby is called Rafferty.

Thesearmsofmine · 16/07/2019 18:43

It’s one of my children’s middle name, I really like it.

bigmap · 16/07/2019 18:38

I would think that's a surname

Expressedways · 16/07/2019 18:10

A chocolate brown lab

sluj · 16/07/2019 18:09

I'm surprised by the posh vote. I must be out of sync as it sounds quite the opposite to me. It makes me think of a cheeky kid from the not posh part of Liverpool.
On the other side, it has a nice sound and Raff is a nice nickname . Not posh though

HeadintheiClouds · 16/07/2019 18:04

Pretentious, definitely. It’s a common Irish surname, so no way is it ever going to be posh.
