What do you think of the name Frank for a baby boy?

We like traditional but not uncommon names.

Alternatives are
Frederick
Louie
Wilfred
Ralph
Luca (not traditional I realise!)

I know you are you said you are but what am I? Grin

PineappleSeahorse · 14/07/2019 07:53

Ignore Flappergirl86. She obviously has terrible taste in names.

ladycarlotta · 13/07/2019 22:44

Frank is lovely. If we'd had a boy I'd have been gunning for it.

Flappergirl86 · 13/07/2019 21:49

Also ignore Pineapple Seahorse. She obvs has terrible taste in names.

Flappergirl86 · 13/07/2019 21:48

I LOVE Frank. Unfortunately my sister got there first!

MrsCharlesBrandon · 13/07/2019 18:21

DNephew is Frank, as is a friend's son. Both under 2.
I also know of a 5yo Stanley.

Lovely names.

PineappleSeahorse · 13/07/2019 18:15

Frank is awful. It's such a harsh sounding ugly name. I can't imagine calling a lovely new baby Frank.

GlitchStitch · 13/07/2019 12:41

Love it. If DD had been a boy our choice of name was Francis (and Frankie or Frank for short).

StarStruckBy1 · 13/07/2019 12:39

I forgot to add that I like it!

StarStruckBy1 · 13/07/2019 12:39

I know a little 5 year old Frank, Francis is his full name.

I also know a little girl Frankie.

Gummibeary · 13/07/2019 11:36

Frank is a great name.

Agree much nicer than the cutesy Alfie, Archie type names.

Lindellia · 13/07/2019 09:48

Far better than the Alfie and Albie nonsense you get these days!

And please make it Frank, not Frankie. Frankie is fine as a nickname but not on the bc.

ElspethFlashman · 13/07/2019 09:34

Yeah I immediately thought of Stephs baby Frank aka the cutest smiliest happiest little pudding in the entire world. I always thought his funny little old man name somehow made him even more adorable.

golddustwomen · 13/07/2019 09:31

Out of your list, I absolutely love Frederick. Love love love.

Enko · 13/07/2019 09:30

Its my dads name and he is lovely so for me it makes me smile. I love the idea of a little baby Frank in the world :)

Also like Frederick and dont mind any of the rest of the names they are nice names.

RhiBee29 · 13/07/2019 09:28

My Son is Franklin but we shorten it to Frank

thegreylady · 13/07/2019 09:05

I have a wonderful grandson named Frank (short for Francis) and it has worked for all his 16 years.

bridgetreilly · 12/07/2019 12:34

Louie is the chimpanzee from the Jungle Book. Louis is a person.

But I really like Frederick best from your list. Frank is fine, too. I don't like Ralph or Luca.

Astronica · 12/07/2019 08:45

I really like Frank. Just Frank - I'm not keen on Francis at all.

I also like Frederick and Ralph from your list, and don't mind Wilfred called Wilf. I only like Louis spelling. Frank is as good as these though.

Threepotato4 · 11/07/2019 19:32

I like the name Frank but not keen on Francis. Please don't call him Frankie. My dog's called Frankie and when he's being particularly badly behaved his name is Wanky Frankie!

NiLunNiLautre · 11/07/2019 18:09

Frank is fab. We need more Franks. Solid and no nonsense.

If you go for Louis instead, spell it correctly!

Nonnymum · 11/07/2019 16:55

I think Frank is cute, would go for Louis but not Louie

Gummibeary · 11/07/2019 16:54

I like Frank! Good solid boys/mans name. I dislike Frankie which sounds so twee.

I also like the suggestions of Quentin and Wilfred.

4SimpleWords · 11/07/2019 16:53

Frank is a great name.

UnicornCat · 11/07/2019 16:49

Frank is a lovely name. I didn't realise it could be cute but Steph from Don't Buy Her Flowers on Instagram has a Frank and he is absolutely adorable! Changed my thinking on the name totally.
