So after all the Jacob posts nothing felt right..... The names just didnt feel right. And today I was reading about Jacob in the bible and it just put me off in all honestly.
We came across a name and it just feels right. The name is JENSON.
Middle name yet to be decided.
What do you all think?
Girls name is set 100% at Sofia Matilda. Sibling is Noah.
Look forward to hearing your thoughts.

I love Noah, Sofia and Matilda. I also quite like Jacob.

To me Jenson is a very different kind of name. Your other names are classics where as this is a flash-in-the-pan fashionable name that will date. Like Tracey in the 80s or Darren in the 70s.

HollowTalk · 07/07/2019 20:39

But as soon as you say "Jenson" someone will say "Button."

Jacob is lovely.

itsagodawfulsmallaffair · 07/07/2019 20:37

As pp Jay is good, I'm a teacher and have not had good experiences with Jenson.

lilpumpsmum · 07/07/2019 20:37

I really don't think it's chavvy. The janson i know was very Chelsea Sloane Ranger so Jenson seems like an extension of that to me. 🤷🏼‍♀️

MakeAWhish · 07/07/2019 20:32

What about Jay, as an alternative? But if you love it, go for it! If the kid isn't chavvy, the name isn't chavvy.

gettingtherequickly · 07/07/2019 20:20

It give a certain impression, but if you're okay with that then crack on.

heartoftheocean · 07/07/2019 20:04

Thank you all so much for your response. Theres been a real mixed bag a comments (likes and dislikes). The positive comments have really made me smile and the negative comments have just made me more determined to use it, because it feels right.
Jenson Button is a famous racing car driver and it doesnt seem to have caused him any problems having a "chavvy" name. Anyway its not a name that makes someone "chavvy" its their upbringing Wink

I prefer traditional names - think about how the name would sound if your dc became an mp, a captain in the military or a doctor. Nicknames are fine but not on birth certificates !

DickZillaofTheVilla · 07/07/2019 19:27

One of the ‘Yummy Mummies’ on Netflix named their baby Jenson and that puts me right off

IggyAce · 07/07/2019 19:27

Not a fan of Jenson and my ds has a surname as a first name. I think it will date.

ArnoldBee · 07/07/2019 19:26

Our DS middle name is Jacob as I decided it worked better as a middle name.

TrickyKid · 07/07/2019 19:26

Jacob is lovely and a timeless name. I don't like Jenson at all.

fedup21 · 07/07/2019 19:22

Jenson is truly awful, sorry. It’s up there with Hayden/Jayden/Kayden for me.

AuntieStella · 07/07/2019 19:21

It wouldn't be my choice of name, but there's nothing whatsoever wrong with Jensen, and as it's clearly your sort of name, go for it.

(Unless your name is Jennifer, because that wouid be matchy in a wring sort of way)

Nesssie · 07/07/2019 19:21

Agree that Jacob and Noah are too biblical.
Jenson is lovely.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 07/07/2019 19:19

Jacob goes better with Noah, I don’t really “get” Jenson tbh

Fortheloveofscience · 07/07/2019 19:17

Sorry - Noah and something contemporary - not suggesting you rename DS1!

Fortheloveofscience · 07/07/2019 19:17

If I met someone with sons called Jacob and Noah I’d assume they were deeply religious. IMO Jacob and something contemporary gives a better balance...

lilpumpsmum · 07/07/2019 19:15

I quite like Jenson. Used to work with a Janson....

EdWinchester · 07/07/2019 19:15

Jenson is a 'Kai/Kayden' type name. ie chavvy.

Jacob infinitely preferable.

WisestIsShe · 07/07/2019 19:10

I think if you know you love it then that's all that matters. (I like it too though)

girlandboy · 07/07/2019 19:07

But I very much doubt that "Interceptor is your surname Grin

Kel801 · 07/07/2019 19:06

Jenson would be considered very council estatey round here. It sounds tacky as hell

girlandboy · 07/07/2019 19:06

I quite like Jenson.

But the first thing I did think was "Jenson Interceptor"

ZenNudist · 07/07/2019 19:04

Or Isaac?
