name for DD!

kittytiggy · 06/07/2019 18:45

Currently 32 weeks with DC2, a little girl.
Her older brother is Grayson.
Here are some names we are considering:

  • Harper
  • Anya
  • Natasha
  • Hazel
  • Maya (My-uh)

The name at the top of my list though is Acacia (uh-cay-sha) I just love it! Mum says it doesn't match with Grayson but that isn't really a big deal to me. The main problem is DH is not a fan - it's too frilly apparently and people will pronounce it uh-cak-ee-uh etc.

Opinions / suggestions?

Anya is lovely
I also like Natasha but a shame if shortened

Astronica · 08/07/2019 23:53

All the names on your list go perfectly well next to Grayson.
I love Anya - my easy first choice, and 2nd choice Natasha.
Hazel is okay but I'm just not keen on it. Harper is over-used and the first to cross off. Maya is okay but has 2 different pronunciations, and along with all the Mia, Mya and Myahs around it's just too popular and confusing.

Hanab · 08/07/2019 23:00

Maya 💯%

2littleninjas · 08/07/2019 22:55

*lovely

2littleninjas · 08/07/2019 22:55

Hazel is lovy

NoSauce · 08/07/2019 22:55

Natasha is a bit dated to me. I think Harper goes nice with Grayson OP.

OhMyGiddyAunty · 07/07/2019 16:16

How about Anastasia, as an Acacia/Natasha inspired mashup..?

OhMyGiddyAunty · 07/07/2019 16:15

Acacia Rd- where bananaman lived.

And "Acacia Avenue" is standing joke, isn't it? That would put me off.

Hazel is lovely!

Sparklypurpleunicornsaremyfav · 07/07/2019 16:12

Sorry natasha. Then sasha or tasha for nn

Sparklypurpleunicornsaremyfav · 07/07/2019 16:10

If you like "caysha" as a nickname what about cassie, casey or alesha(or a varient spelling). I like natascha, Sacha for short

Kokeshi123 · 07/07/2019 13:44

Hazel is nice. Or how about Azalea?

Zoobluebabypink · 07/07/2019 12:33

I like Hazel, but think it gets a bit lost next to Grayson as they sound similar, so Natasha or Maya. I don't like Acacia, sorry.

I love Natasha. Its a beautiful name but completely underused (only 71 born in 2017)

Hazel is also lovely but rising in popularity

A find Maya a bit meh, Harper a bit faddy and not a huge fan of Anya. Acacia is my least favourite though sorry

kittytiggy · 06/07/2019 21:03

Thank you for all the replies lovelies, please keep them coming.
I think Hazel, Maya and Natasha are my favourites but Acacia still has my heart - love the idea of Cacia (caysha) as a nickname too Confused. Still clinging onto the hope it will grow on DH. Does anyone have any other name suggestions based on the type of name I like? x

Well you’ll have to rule Acacia out if your husband doesn’t like it.
I like Hazel and Anya

Hepzibar · 06/07/2019 20:54

Hazel. No brainer OP

userabcname · 06/07/2019 20:45

Anya and Natasha are fab - also love Acacia although if your DH isn't a fan I guess it's off the table. Really not a fan of Hazel or Maya (also there are a million little girls called Maya/Mya/Mia/Maia at the moment so to me it is starting to feel over-used!).

BlueMerchant · 06/07/2019 20:43

Anya.
Acacia is not nice.
