Hi ladies,

So I’m back and still undecided, I love the name Rose but dh doesn’t. What do you think of these alternatives and are there any others to consider that are nice too?

Rosalie
Rosella
Rosella
Rosabelle

I always appreciate your views as so helpful! I would have called my daughter Pippa otherwise! Thankyou! X

How about Primrose?

Americanah · 04/07/2019 20:58

Rosalind and Rosamund are dreadful.

Rosa all the way!

BlueMerchant · 04/07/2019 20:47

Rosa is my favorite.

butterry · 04/07/2019 20:44

I like Rosalind or Rosalina

Tavannach · 04/07/2019 20:37

Rosa is my favourite.

ElspethFlashman · 04/07/2019 20:35

Rosalind is terribly pretty. But you'd be called "Roz" for your entire life, which I wouldn't be keen on.

Summerloving17 · 04/07/2019 20:35

Thanks everyone, I like Rosalie, Rosa and Rosie too. Let’s see if I can persuade dh :)

Rosabella
Rosalita
Rosette

From your list I like Rosalie best.

Littleheart5 · 04/07/2019 19:43

I love Roselea (great aunt’s name and pronounced Rosa-Lee) or Rosalind which is very romantic I think

NellWilsonsWhiteHair · 04/07/2019 19:42

I have a Rosa and I (unsurprisingly!) like that much more than the others.

I like Rosalie too.

Not keen on any of the others at all I’m afraid (except Rose) - they all feel too frilly to me.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 04/07/2019 19:42

I love Rosabelle.

From your list Rosalie

But I prefer Rosemary or Rosa or just Rose

Americanah · 04/07/2019 19:39

My favourite rose names are Rosa and Rosanna.

Rosalie is the only one from your list that I like. The others have a bit of a dolly vibe.

KellyMarieTunstall2 · 04/07/2019 19:39

I like Rosalind, Rosalyn and Rosamund. Rise on its own is a complimentary middle name.

ElspethFlashman · 04/07/2019 19:36

There are also two Irish options : Rosaleen and Róisín (little rose). Pronounced with a "sh" in the middle. The latter has always been very popular and still is - there are two in DS's class.

MikeUniformMike · 04/07/2019 19:32

I love Rosalind. Rosamund, Rosanna, Rosa and Rosie are nice.
Not keen on your list.

Shadow1234 · 04/07/2019 19:09

Much prefer Rosa

Peachbubble · 04/07/2019 17:02

Rosalie and Rosanna are my favourites

elliandher5 · 04/07/2019 16:27

I adore Rosalie - I think it's beautiful and reminds me of twilight. You can also do Rosie for short which is lovely.

My friend has a Rosanna which I think is lovely.

Not keen on Rosemary / Rosalind / Rosamund at all, and Rose on it's own is too plain I think.

Fatkins · 04/07/2019 16:25

From your list, I only like Rosalie. Not keen on the others. But I do really like Rosalie. It's lovely. Unusual and feminine without being ridiculous or Disney Princess-ish.

I also love Rosanna and it would be on my list if we ever had another DD. I don't like Rosanne though.

bridgetreilly · 04/07/2019 16:24

Much prefer Rosalind or Rosamund.

youllhavehadyourtea · 04/07/2019 16:11

Rosemary
Rosamund

My great grandmother was Rozalia

ChihuahuaMummy1 · 04/07/2019 16:06

Rosie

Paultrybudget · 04/07/2019 16:02

Also Rosalind?

teenmum18 · 04/07/2019 16:02

Hmm not keen on any of those. But rose is nice. I have a friend called Larosa.
