I posted before about Suki for my potential DD. Since then we have also come up with 3 other names. Middle name will most likely be Elizabeth. Which name is your favourite?

Suki
Helena
Hazel
Susannah (Susie)

Thank you

I looooove both Hazel and Helena :)

Krisskrosskiss · 03/07/2019 20:33

I absolutely LOVE Suki!!

The others are all fine but none is particularly striking.

TatianaLarina · 03/07/2019 20:30

Hazel Elizabeth is fine.

Pearl is very low rent.

TatianaLarina · 03/07/2019 20:27

Helena. Suki’s a bit crap.

bigshiplittleboat · 03/07/2019 20:09

I love Helena, the pronunciation with the emphasis on the first syllable, beautiful!

Icklepup · 03/07/2019 19:11

Hazel Elizabeth Pearl - lovely!

Hazel Elizabeth Pearl is lovely

diddlediddle · 03/07/2019 17:58

On reflection I think Hazel Elizabeth Pearl is better - avoids two names ending in L next to each other, and if your surname starts with S then it avoids running a Th sound into an S sound. A perfect name 👌🏼

diddlediddle · 03/07/2019 17:55

Beautiful! I think either way round works. Very nice 👍🏼

thelonearranger · 03/07/2019 14:51

What do you think of Hazel Elizabeth Pearl/Hazel Pearl Elizabeth. I’m not sure which one flows better, our last name is one syllable and begins with S

I like Hazel best by a mile.

Then Helena.

Then Susannah.

Then Suki.

TFSRM · 03/07/2019 03:19

Hazel then Helena

AverageMummy · 03/07/2019 03:17

Susannah is a beautiful name and I love the idea of Suki as an unusual nickname

Hazel is one of my favourites

Sophronia · 02/07/2019 23:57

Susannah or Helena

Calloway · 02/07/2019 23:16

I like Susannah/Susie/Suki

Helena and Hazel are blah

Bellaposey · 02/07/2019 22:48

Helena Grin but I'm biased.

We have one. Pronounced Helen-a and had the odd mispronounciation but nothing like is suggested on these threads. I think literally once or twice. Lots of nickname potential (ours is a Nell but could be Hela, Lena etc). Always get great comments on it from people.

I like Hazel as well but I don't like Suki. Cute nickname but not as a full name.

Tillygetsit · 02/07/2019 22:46

I have a Susannah (Susie) but wish we'd thought of Suki now!

diddlediddle · 02/07/2019 22:45

Are you of Asian descent? If yes then Suki seems ok. If not, it seems culturally strange unless it is short for something.

Suki could most definitely be a nn for susannah and given that susannah is on your list I am confused about why you wouldn't want to get "two for the price of one"?!

It would give your child so much more choice when they're older. Suki is a very twee and young kind of name, it really does make me think of a Harajuku girl or similar. Your daughter may want an alternative that sounds a bit more sensible for certain circumstances - equally if they love Suki then they can be known by that nickname. Susannah is a lovely, pretty, classic name.

FWIW I love Helena and Hazel - Helena is classic and pretty and Hazel is a good balance of less usual but not twee.

aibutohavethisusername · 02/07/2019 22:42

Hazel

17caterpillars1mouse · 02/07/2019 21:46

I love Hazel

thelonearranger · 02/07/2019 19:25

I think we will just wait and see what she looks like when she’s born (if it is a girl)

  1. Susannah (beautiful name). For short you could have Susie, Sukie or Zanna. Or Sue possibly!
  1. Helena is lovely too and a close second. Of course, there are at least three different pronunciations (HEL-ena as in Bonham Carter, Hel-AY-na, Hel-EEN-a, probably others).
  1. Suki which is nice but a bit cutesy as a stand-alone name. To the poster above, yes it is a traditional short name for Susan/Susannah.
elliandher5 · 02/07/2019 18:10

I like Hazel you know. And Hazel Elizabeth is gorgeous! But honestly, go with your heart.

Loveislandaddict · 02/07/2019 16:23

Helena
