Middle names Thomas Arthur (family names)

How popular is Archie after MM named her son it? 🤔

I'm Scottish and Joe-bee is still very much poo along with jyo-bee. So Joby is very much out for anyone up here!

@teenmum18 it's an accent/dialect thing but very broad ie. A lot of the borders, a lot of the islands, pretty much the entire east coast, Glasgow, Fife... In my (Scottish but barely) accent Joby sounds fine, in just about every other Scottish accent jobby and Joby sound exactly the same (also coke and cock - it's the o)

I didn't mean that they would get called Jobbie Mike, just that if there's any connection to Scotland then Jobey is also used in dialect for shit as is Jobbie.

As a Scottish person I beg you not use Jobey if you ever speak to/visit or have connections with Scotland. Jobey/Jobby depending on the region is slang for a shit!

Archie and Arthur are too much in one name and Archie has been overused for quite a while.

Coby is slightly better but the b sounds clunky, I prefer Corey or Cody personally.

I like pp suggestion of Arthur/Artie Thomas. Then you get a similar sound.

Can't have Archie and Arthur in the same name. So on that basis it'll have to be Coby, although I feel like that name has negative class connotations (sorry mumsnet, I know you hate mention of class) / American name.

Archie is often used as a nickname for Arthur so would be a bit weird having both I think. Both Coby and Archie are awful to me but Thomas & Arthur are both lovely.
