Raphael 100 times over. I'm afraid I'm just not keen on Gabriel, although it's a perfectly good solid name, just not my taste.

Gabriel seems to be slightly ahead... That’s H’s preference; Raphael is mine (and it’s sort of a family name). Interesting to hear your thoughts, thank you!

Gabriel because it's one of my two favourite male names. I do like Raphael too though.

Both are gorgeous though I think Raphael/Rafe might be slightly easier to pull off but really, either.

Don't like either much - a bit too OT.
Of the two, Gabriel but might get shortened to Gay.
Raphael seems a bit downmarket, sorry.

I never normally comment on baby name threads but this popped up in Active.

I knew a Gabriel who was mercilessly bullied about his name for years (I did what I could to stand up for him). He's over 40 now and it's still impacting his life.

It's weird how names remind you of things isn't it. I didn't think of the ninja turtle thing now it's all I can think of for that name 😂

For no real reason I don’t think Raphael sounds right on a British child with no Italian heritage. Same with Luca.

Gabriel is more timeless I think. Raphael and Rafferty seem to be having a moment, so I think may not date as well.

I really like both though. Can't go wrong!
