Just that really - what do you think of the names Phoebe & Tabitha?

The reason being that I think Tabitha is cool and elegant. Phoebe is a bit insipid and cutesy.

Fatkins · 27/06/2019 13:21

I love Tabitha! I could take or leave Phoebe, but there's nothing wrong with it.

Rhea makes be think gonnorhea / diorrhoea. Sorry, that's horrible, but it was what first came to my awful, awful mind BlushGrin.

dreichuplands · 26/06/2019 19:45

I like Tabitha and it has nice nn.

TatianaLarina · 26/06/2019 19:34

Phoebe by miles. More elegant. Tabitha is twee slash feline.

AverageMummy · 26/06/2019 11:14

You’ve all made it harder not easier Grin

I like Phoebe, dislike Tabitha.

Teaandchocolatecake · 26/06/2019 10:02

Phoebe is lovely but I really dislike Tabitha.

AverageMummy · 26/06/2019 09:59

Really surprised by how mixed the reactions are!

I know a good handful of Phoebes and it’s not been a pleasant experience! They range in age, (mostly) 3-9 and an adult. They’re strangely all bratty and whiney!!! How that happens, I do not know! But it has warped the association. It is also a terribly common name now. Shame, because objectively it’s quite pretty.

But Tabitha is another level! It’s smart, but fun, cute but sophisticated. I’m a big fan!! 😊

ZebraKid71 · 25/06/2019 18:13

I love Tabitha, and Tabby.

Phoebe is nice but popular in my area which would put me off.

Sophronia · 25/06/2019 14:50

Phoebe makes me think of the word “feeble”. I like Tabitha though.

MrsBertBibby · 25/06/2019 12:52

I dislike Tabitha a lot. Phoebe is nice.

AverageMummy · 25/06/2019 12:27

Wow it’s really split. Phoebe is my favourite & Tabitha my husband’s. I was expecting you all to vote with me Grin

Love Tabitha, not keen in Phoebe but works as a middle name with Tabitha!

AverageMummy · 25/06/2019 11:22

@DramaAlpaca I did not know that !

Both great. To give another perspective, I know a pet called Phoebe and a beautiful lady called Tabitha...

Rhea will always me think of Perlman. I didn't realise that the names of Saturn's moons are a strange blend of Greek and Norse mythology.

gerbilfun · 25/06/2019 10:46

Love phoebe. Not keen on Tabitha

userabcname · 25/06/2019 10:43

Lovey. Especially like Tabitha.

CloserIAm2Fine · 25/06/2019 10:39

I love both

Peachbubble · 25/06/2019 08:44

Tabitha is a lovely name. Phoebe is OK, but very popular atm.

Shadow1234 · 25/06/2019 00:44

Really like Phoebe, but not keen on Tabitha

TheHandsOfNeilBuchanan · 25/06/2019 00:29

Tabitha would've been DSs name if he'd been a girl. I love it. I had very vivid dreams about a tabby cat after choosing the name and think would've used tabby/tabby cat as a nn so the feline association doesn't bother me. Mind you DS ended up with a name that some think is for dogs!

A rhea is a large bird related to an emu or ostrich.

AverageMummy · 24/06/2019 23:15

@DeadButDelicious ooh Rhea is lovely
