Hi Everyone,
So I'm 37 weeks pregnant and myself and DH are struggling with boys names! We have an older daughter called Arabella and the names we have narrowed it down to are:

  • Lochran
  • Campbell
  • Garrett

My mother and her side of the family are Scottish. Husband's family is English. What do you think of these names? Wanted to sound the out before sharing thoughts with our families!

Garrett is bound to be misheard (but is lovely). And the other two are great too. Finally a baby name thread I don't roll my eyes at!!!

I really like all 3. My favourite is Garrett, a name I have long loved but never actually seen it used. All good though, and all work for Arabella's brother.

Never heard of Lochran, is it Scottish? I'm in Scotland and it just looks like a typo of the well known Lochlan:

I like Lochran the best.

30not13 · 20/06/2019 08:07

In Scotland and never come across a Lochran if that helps any Confused

Love Lochran! Sounds very Scottish and a bit less usual.

caoraich · 20/06/2019 07:59

I like the first two, not sure about Garrett- people might think you're saying Gareth.

I'm in Scotland and have met loads of Campbells, I love it as a name.

wowfudge · 20/06/2019 07:54

They're all surnames which I'm not keen on for first names.

Fullmoons · 20/06/2019 07:54

They all sound good and Scottish.

I've never met anyone with these names so have no associations. But it's great that they're not overused, they're interesting!

diddlediddle · 20/06/2019 07:51

I think Lochran is the nicest of your choices x
