LadyGardens · 18/06/2019 22:54

We want strong, feisty names for our twin girls. Which combo do you prefer?

Frieda and Nina
Aphra and Greta
Tess and Olive
Dorothea and Emmeline

Definitely Greta it’s a lovely name with Tessa also great name.

AshQ · 22/06/2019 09:49

I like Tess and Olive or Tess and Nina.

ZiggyB · 21/06/2019 23:50

You could ask a zillion people and the majority might totally disagree with your choices. I’d say go with your gut. How did you choose your other two?

cindersrella · 19/06/2019 20:17

Scarlett & Amelia
Rose & Emily
Ethel & Mabel

Havenly · 19/06/2019 20:02

Nina and Tess- not one of your combinations, sorry, but nice names separately and together.

gerbilfun · 19/06/2019 19:58

Greta and nina

WallisFrizz · 19/06/2019 19:52

Nina and Tess are fab!

LadyGardens · 19/06/2019 19:47

I was afraid people would say that about Dorothea and Theo.

I’m not closed minded to swapping some of the combinations around. I was keen on Frieda and Aphra or Aphra and Nina.

My favourite two names are Frieda and Nina but I think they sound odd together.

Aphra & Olive (helpful Grin )

userabcname · 19/06/2019 18:14

I love Olive! So I'd pick Tess and Olive on that basis. Unless you're open to swapping the names a bit, in which case I'd go Olive and Emmeline.

TurquoiseAndPurple · 19/06/2019 18:12

Definitely avoid Dorothea if you already have a Theo.

schnubbins · 19/06/2019 17:53

Frieda and Nina ..love them.

bridgetreilly · 19/06/2019 17:40

I do love Dorothea, but I probably wouldn't pick that if you already have a Theo.

My favourites would be Aphra and Emmeline.

MikeUniformMike · 19/06/2019 17:28

Dorothea wil be Thea so no. Dorothy is nicer.
The best names are Tess and Nina, and Greta is ok.

Owlbert · 19/06/2019 10:35

Love your first 2 children's names but not keen on any of your choices other than Dorothea.

GrumpyOHara · 19/06/2019 09:17

Tess and Olive

Or

Greta and Frieda

Lovely names!

Watersnail · 19/06/2019 07:44

Olive and Greta

AverageMummy · 19/06/2019 07:41

@LadyGardens no I don’t think so at all but I’m one who thinks siblings don’t need to ‘match’

LadyGardens · 19/06/2019 07:09

Thanks all. If it helps my first two children are Theo and Ezra. Do you think the girls names need to be short because of this?

Frieda and Nina are my favourites.

springydaff · 19/06/2019 01:09

I just got an instinct, a gut feel for them when they were born. We had a few names ready but it seemed obvious which ones suited the person before me - and which ones absolutely didn't!

That's how it was for me, anyway.

AverageMummy · 19/06/2019 00:53

@LadyGardens my first child SLEPT & SLEPT & SLEPT for a few weeks. Then BANG did he wake up Grin

AverageMummy · 19/06/2019 00:53

@springydaff personalities start really showing from about 1. I think you legally have to register in the first 6 weeks so it’s probably not a good idea to wait for a sense of their feistiness or otherwise before naming ?!!

Moongirl10 · 19/06/2019 00:38

Nina and Emmeline.

manicinsomniac · 19/06/2019 00:37

Aphra is my favourite by miles. I love it.

I think I'd choose Nina to pair it with. I'm not that keen on any of the others in comparison to Aphra though.

I would assume you had Austrian or German roots if you went with Frieda and Greta together. Or even with Frieda alone.
