I prefer Maria too.

I have worked with 3 Maries and they all pronounced it differently.

Are you pronouncing it m-ree or Mar-ree? Prefer the first.

My middle name is Marie and I pronounce it Mah-ree but have also ears it pronounced marry. I like it!

Sorry should have clarified- Greek Marie’s in U.K. not in Greece or Cyprus. Also when I said common I mean common as in usual. Really shouldn’t post when I’m tired. Grin

I've never met a Greek Marie, plenty of Greek Maria's though! I like Marie, but like Mary even more.

Quite a few Greeks call their dds Marie as opposed to Maria as that’s seen as more common. I like it. I know a LOT of Marie’s. But all Greek.

There’s a Mari in my daughter’s drama class, but I think it’s pronounced Marry. Dd loves the name as Marie is her favourite Disney character.

Have only ever heard "Muh-REE" as the pronunciation.
