I feel like it’s a classic name. Is it horrendously popular? I know a few of various ages but no children. Is it blah?!
Thoughts please :)

My DS’s name is quite a popular one (unbeknown to us at the time although we’d probably still have picked it). So we are not looking to be trend setters or anything, just a nice simple name.

Lucy is great, its on our list! DS is 2 and I don't see many Lucys around in the baby / toddlers groups.

Whereas my sister is 22 and she went to school with loads so definitely not as popular as it was in the 90s. But still a classic, lovely name and it hasn't dated.

Zoflorabore · 16/06/2019 04:07

I've loved the name all of my life and my own Lucy was born in 2011. She's 8 now and there is one other in her school, in reception.

My ds is 16 and I've not known any in his age group at all.

It's a classic name. My dd really suits it!

Mummaofmytribe · 16/06/2019 04:06

It would be a lovely choice IMO

ListenLinda · 16/06/2019 03:56

I like the name Lucy. If I had another girl i would of considered it.

Until my beautiful niece came along and now she is Lucy Smile timeless and pretty.

GeorgiaGirl52 · 16/06/2019 03:45

Lucy is in the top 10 of female dog names.

Kokeshi123 · 16/06/2019 02:34

Classic well known name, and not ridiculously popular at all. She will probably be the only Lucy in her class at school.

Astronica · 16/06/2019 02:26

Love it, and timeless I think. I don't know any personally, though being in the top 100 means realistically you will come across others. Not top 10 though so wouldn't stop me using it.

Jacksmadre · 16/06/2019 01:41

Lucy is lovely. And I don’t think it a popular in babies at all

DramaAlpaca · 16/06/2019 01:39

Lucy is lovely. It's traditional, feminine and neither cutesy nor twee.

ShmooBooMoo · 16/06/2019 01:36

Kennehora Me too! Amy, Ellie, Abbie and Sophie annoy me as well as those you listed.

FiddleFaddleDingDong · 16/06/2019 01:36

Kirsty is very Scottish.

49th in England and Wales last year so not overwhelmingly popular.
I like Lucy. It's feminine without being too cutesy.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 16/06/2019 01:28

Nice name. Its pretty and feminine without being sickly twee. Plus it's not ridiculously popular.

monsieurmarius · 16/06/2019 01:23

Love Lucy! Timeless, beautiful name

ShmooBooMoo · 16/06/2019 01:23

I hate it but I think it's because when I was a kid a loosey was a single cigarette kids bought off the local van!

whiskeysourpuss · 16/06/2019 01:23

I have a Lucy so I'm completely biased but I do still love her name, she's 18 this year & I've never met another.

FiddleFaddleDingDong · 16/06/2019 01:14

I think it's moderately popular but not as popular as it was 20 years ago. I like the name, pretty but not too frilly. It gives me slight Edwardian vibes, probably because of Lucy Honeychurch.

ladyme · 16/06/2019 00:51

I like Lucy - never met a mean one
