Nina or Lea

Wiseoldnannyplum · 13/06/2019 20:37

Love Nina, Nela, Laia and quite a few others on that list. Not sure of Persian pronunciations but they're lovely names

OhTeddyToaster · 13/06/2019 19:46

Vida or Nina for me! ❤️

MikeUniformMike · 13/06/2019 15:05

Livin' la vida loca

Owlbert · 13/06/2019 13:39

Absolutely LOVE Kimia! Laia really nice too. Sara is used here already and is nice but lots of people pronounce it incorrectly (Sarah and even more commonly Zara!).

TurquoiseAndPurple · 13/06/2019 09:45

My daughter is of Persian lineage so I gave her the middle name Soraya.

I don't really many from your list personally. If I had to pick one I'd go for Vida.

AlliKaneErikson · 13/06/2019 08:42

I love Laia!

monsieurmarius · 13/06/2019 00:50

Love Nina!

Agree with PP to be aware than Farine means flour in french.

Astronica · 13/06/2019 00:35

Nadia is the standout for me - lovely! I also like Katayun.

Sophronia · 13/06/2019 00:13

My best friend is Persian and lives in the UK, she used Sara for her daughter. I think that’s a good choice.

Deafdonkey · 12/06/2019 20:16

Agree with heavier.

I know of lovely girl called Persia.

Kimia is gorgeous.

Spanning cultures is really difficult so you may need to choose one you love & accept it’s not always going to be pronounced or spelled correctly.... but my views

▪Tina - sounds not great to me - what about Nina?

▪Hiva (Hee-va, like Eva) This sounds like an insult to me ‘she’s a heaver’ ‘She’s heaving’ (being sick) sorry !

▪Nila/Nyla/Nela (Nee-la) Really pretty name as long as you don’t mind not everyone succeeding with saying & spelling it right

▪Dina (Dee-na) quite nice although likely to be pronounced incorrectly

▪Kimia (Kim+Mia) not a fan

▪Mahya (kinda like Maya) Pretty name again if you don’t mind people not always getting it right

▪Mahsa - not a fan

▪Laia (or Laya) pronounced like Liar?

▪Nili (Nee-lee)

▪Nadia - ok

▪Vida (Vee-da) really nice

▪Shiva - ok

▪Katayun (could be nicknamed Katie) could be quite versatile

▪Sara - beautiful name in the top 100 so easy for people to say & spell - gorgeous classic

▪Nina - nice

▪Nora - really love this name

▪Farine (Fa-reen) don’t like

▪Ferial (Fe-ree-al) this sounds like feral so I really wouldn’t

▪Lea (Lee-uh) ok

▪Tina - no, too eastenders for me.

▪Hiva (Hee-va, like Eva)- not for me.

▪Nila/Nyla/Nela (Nee-la) - I like this but spelt Nela she'd be forever called Ne-la as in the princess knight.

▪Dina (Dee-na)- not for me, first thought was Deena Lady off Gigglebiz

▪Kimia (Kim+Mia)- no

▪Mahya (kinda like Maya)- yes but there are loads of Maya's around

▪Mahsa- not for me.

▪Laia (or Laya)- love this and would suit a grown woman too.

▪Nili (Nee-lee)- not for me

▪Nadia- love it, timeless and suits into adulthood.

▪Vida (Vee-da)- not a fan.

▪Shiva- I like this.

▪Katayun (could be nicknamed Katie)- not a fan

▪Sara- love it! Also Saura?

▪Nina- love it

▪Nora- love it but prefer Sara and Nina

▪Farine (Fa-reen)- not a fan.

▪Ferial (Fe-ree-al)- no.

▪Lea (Lee-uh)- I like it.

Shadow1234 · 12/06/2019 19:30

Sara is lovely - ( pronounced as sa-ruh, I presume)
Dina would be my scond choice.

rachelgrace · 12/06/2019 19:20

I like Nadia

BertrandRussell · 12/06/2019 19:19

I like Lea a lot but in English it’s spelled Leah and Lea is pronounced Lee.
Shiva is a male Hindu god.

Banhaha · 12/06/2019 19:11

Nela is lovely

userabcname · 12/06/2019 19:08

I like Nina or Lea best

thisisthetime · 12/06/2019 19:05

I love Nora. Could also spell Norah.

MikeUniformMike · 12/06/2019 19:04

I'm not Persian.
Tina - ok
Hiva (Hee-va, like Eva) - Heave for short?
Nila/Nyla/Nela (Nee-la) - nice but kneeler
Dina (Dee-na) - yes.
Kimia (Kim+Mia) - ok. nn Kim?
Mahya (kinda like Maya) - ok but don't like Maya
Mahsa - not for me
Laia (or Laya) - liar or layer?
Nili (Nee-lee) - no
Nadia - ok
Vida (Vee-da) - ok
Shiva - shiver
Katayun (could be nicknamed Katie) - ok
Sara- ok
Nina - yes
Nora - no
Farine (Fa-reen) - french for flour I think
Ferial (Fe-ree-al) - for real or feral?
Lea (Lee-uh) - It's pronounced Lee in the uk

OneStepOneStumble · 12/06/2019 19:00

Another one who loves nela!

Would avoid mahya because I know a maya and she says people are forever pronouncing and spelling it wrong and it's tiring to constantly correct!

Anotherdayanotherdollar · 12/06/2019 18:57

I really like a lot of those names. Neither dina nor Tina are to my taste (although I think Nina is beautiful!) and I think that ferial is too similar sounding to "for real". I also really like Shiva

qj17 · 12/06/2019 18:53

Nyla but pronounced n-eye-la
