It's Eeda for Ida in lots of languages, not just in Scandinavia.

I prefer the Eeda pronunciation.

Astronica · 10/06/2019 08:14

I love both Nell and Pippa. What puts me off Ida is that it has 2 pronunciations - EE-da in Scandinavian countries and EYE-da elsewhere. Still a fine name though, as long as this doesn't worry you. Ida certainly has a smart modern vibe to it. I find them all upbeat and sassy, which is good.

Starlight456 · 09/06/2019 22:31

Nell or Pippa

bitethebulletnope · 09/06/2019 22:28

Nell

Cyberworrier · 09/06/2019 22:26

Ida (Irish relative called this and pronounced ‘Eye-dah’)is a lovely name.

Pippas meh, Nell is ok but I think not that pretty?

miamiibiza · 09/06/2019 22:20

Pippa

DrFoxtrot · 09/06/2019 21:51

Love Ida - but not if your surname is Down Grin

sunnyshines · 09/06/2019 21:49

Nell sounds like a nickname for Penelope or Nella.

I prefer Ida.

SallyWD · 09/06/2019 21:48

Ida is lovely and still very rare.

BikeRunSki · 09/06/2019 21:46

Nell
Ida
Pippa
In that order. Pippa sounds incomplete.

TatianaLarina · 09/06/2019 21:45

Love Nell.

Really dislike the others.

MikeUniformMike · 09/06/2019 20:44

Nell, but I don't like Nelly/Nellie.
Pippa is nice - best if short for Philippa.
I don't like Ida at all.

meow1989 · 09/06/2019 20:24

I like Nell.

diddlediddle · 09/06/2019 20:13

They're all really lovely names but Pippa and Nell to me feel like shortened versions of longer names.

Nell (Eleanor, Helena?)
Pippa (Philippa)
Ida is a stand-alone name

However even tho I'm usually a fan of the longer version I think they're all so nice you could do it Smile

BlueMerchant · 09/06/2019 18:25

Definitely Nell.

nothingtowearever · 09/06/2019 18:24

Nell or pippa

Peachbubble · 09/06/2019 18:05

Nell

maimainomai · 09/06/2019 17:47

Pippa sounds like pussy (not in a nice way) in Polish.

Refers to having sex in Swedish.

Male masturbation (or something useless) in Italian. And apparently Blowjob in Greek (not sure about that one).

So yeah, I personally would not feel comfortable with that one.

Quintella · 09/06/2019 17:30

Nell is the only one I like.

QueenBeex · 09/06/2019 17:30

Pippa.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 09/06/2019 17:25

Nell. Then Pippa.

Fulltimemummy85 · 09/06/2019 17:24

Nell or pippa x

Penny4Thoughts · 09/06/2019 17:00

Not a huge fan of nicknames as full names so I’d go Ida which is nice
I love Pippa if used for Penelope and Nell if used for Eleanor or Penelope

Divinelyuninspired · 09/06/2019 16:29

Not Ida. Quite like Nell and Pippa.

DramaAlpaca · 09/06/2019 16:28

Nell is nice (though Nellie isn't)

Ida is too 'granny chic' for me, and Pippa has unfortunate connotations in other languages as a pp has said.
