Naming our little girl Juniper (NN Juno / Junie / June)

What middle name would you pair with this?

We have a couple of ideas but wanted to see what other people think goes, to get an unbiased opinion.

Thanks!

I think Juniper's a great name all by itself.
I'm not a fan of middle names generally unless they have a particular meaning or, in the case of common names, help in identifying someone.

No suggestions (although Juniper Robyn/in is my favourite) but just wanted to say that Juniper is such a gorgeous name - slightly wishing we'd used it for DD!

@Juniperjunojunijune people might just think that mummy has a soft spot for alcohol and named baby after her favourite tipple?

When I started reading this thread I had no ideas to put forward but enjoyed reading all the suggestions. Some of which are really lovely and seem to fit well. Would just say though have been for some reason very drawn to Juniper Grace, so that would now be my suggestion.

Oh, OP, I see you are keen on having a middle classic name, though I wouldn't rule nature themes if I were you. They seem to go well. I have put my latest offerings in bold Smile

I was also thinking: Juniper Lily (both classic and nature).

Juniper Iris is lovely too! Iris apparently means rainbow in Greek, so again, classic and nature (flower as well as rainbow).

Juniper Celeste (heavenly) is pretty too.

I also love Juniper Blythe (Blythe is rarely used and is a beautiful classic English name).
Quote: The word blithe means "carefree." It's a lively, sophisticated little word that many associate with Noel Coward's Blithe Spirit -- a lively, sophisticated little play. The spelling Blythe wraps all those good vibes up into an elegant English surname. This is an uncommon and stylish name.

I think Juniper is a beautiful timeless name. Congratulations, btw. I'm sure whatever you go with will be lovely!

Don't know why some people are being so rude on this thread. Juniper is a bona fide name! Such posters only betray their ignorance.

ShmooBooMoo · 09/06/2019 14:57

Sorry... Merle = blackbird in French.

ShmooBooMoo · 09/06/2019 14:56

I'm going to say Juniper Merle - Merle Oberon was an actress in the 1930s (she starred opposite Laurence Olivier in Wuthering Heights). It also means blackbird in French which ties in with the nature them, Juniper being a small tree or shrub. I think it would also go with your Al...surname:

Juniper Merle Al....

Ah maybe you're right Penny - although I already said I couldn't pull it off Sad I do think it sounds lovely but I feel like it would need quite a cool, quirky parent to make it work and I am neither of those things! Oh well Smile

And thank you for the feedback about nature names! Would you personally go for something more classic?

Iris and Elspeth are both lovely.

I think first of Eliot's "three white leopards sat under a juniper tree".
