Hello!

Whats your Vote for Maisy or Maizy?

Also, would you spell with a 'y' or 'ie'?

DH likes Maisy, I like Maizie. Are either very popular? Smile

Maisie is best or failing that Maisy. Definitely don't add a Z. It cheapens the name imo.

Oh and I don't know a single Maisy

CaptainCabinets · 25/06/2019 15:18

Maisy or Maisie.

Maizy is just bonkers.

Aquilla · 23/06/2019 14:42

Maisey will be pronnounced Maizey anyway, don't worry about that. And you and your child will escape a LOT of judgement! (Trust me, I know one)

user1471453978 · 23/06/2019 14:30

Maisie is very cute

piperk · 17/06/2019 21:16

Masie

loudnoises1 · 16/06/2019 04:08

Definitely no Z.

As for the ending, my DD is called Josy rather than the more common Josie. I do have to correct the spelling a LOT but I don't really mind, I adore her name.

Kokeshi123 · 16/06/2019 02:33

The southern African diet is "maizy."

The name is Maisie. I'm not a massive fan, but it's OK if spelt this way.

Georgeofthejungle · 16/06/2019 00:54

What about May-Z? She could be a cool rapper.

Just joking :) I’m with others, Maisie.

Astronica · 14/06/2019 01:19

Maisy or Maisie are my favourites. It's pronounced the same way with both an 's' and a 'z' though.

I also think it's fine to use the 'z' spelling if you prefer - just be aware that it's an unusual spelling, and people who think that there are right and wrong spellings (there aren't!) will get upset, as this thread shows.

KinderSurpriseBump · 12/06/2019 17:16

Maisie

starkid · 12/06/2019 14:43

Definitely Maisie

ReginaGeorgeous · 12/06/2019 09:47

Maisie.

Owlbert · 11/06/2019 21:27

Maisie or Maisy

midsomermurderess · 11/06/2019 14:02

If it's for a person and not a maize-based snack, the former.

mintymellons · 11/06/2019 13:45

I have a 13 yo Maisie (pronounced May-zee). If you want to pronounce it May-see, then it would be spelt Macy and a different name!

TatianaLarina · 09/06/2019 21:43

Maisie is the more common spelling but they are equally correct.

Personally I prefer y endings to Maisy (like Daisy), Milly and Marny.

I find the ie twee.

MikeUniformMike · 09/06/2019 21:30

The conventional spelling is Maisie.

QueenoftheBiscuitTin · 09/06/2019 21:14

I think Maisie looks better personally. It has nothing to do with education as some other posters have mentioned.

sunnyshines · 09/06/2019 16:13

Maisy looks more educated than Maisie imo

starzig · 09/06/2019 15:49

Maisie. Anything else makes you appear uneducated.

maimainomai · 09/06/2019 14:52

Maizie/Maisie looks more feminine than Maizy/Maisy imo.

Maizy looks especially spiky. But that's not necessarily a bad thing...

The z does look a bit as if you really like corn / maize but if it's about honouring your grandmother... Why not?

TatianaLarina · 09/06/2019 12:23

Maisy.

sunnyshines · 09/06/2019 10:17

As does Daisy rather tanned Daisie

sunnyshines · 09/06/2019 10:16

Maisy looks nicer than Maisie.

Sophronia · 09/06/2019 10:05

Maisie, pronounced may-zee
