Just watching Milkshake with my dd and the presenter was reading out the birthday cards and one of them was for a girl called Indiana Jones, even the presenter giggled. I think it’s a great name.
Unfortunately we have a really long unusual surname, but has anyone else known or named their dc after someone famous?
I would love to hear!!

I know a Jayne Eyre and lots of Tom Joneses. It’s not unusual here.

Ooo I do love Harry Potter but I can appreciate how once that book appeared there must have been endless supply of jokes!

I used to work with a 50 year old Harry Potter (in a school) - he had 30 years of normality before JK Rowling ruined his life!

But in terms of fictional characters there is a pretty well known family lawyer called Rupert Bear, he's used his unusual name to his advantage though as part of his business name.

anitagreen · 07/06/2019 16:41

@BarryBarryTaylor Ooh maybe I've no idea lol

Lexilooo · 07/06/2019 16:38

I know someone who shares their name with a murderer. He would have been about 10 when this EXTREMELY high profile murder happened.

It is two fairly normal and common names, just an unfortunate combination. First time I met him he made a joke remark about how he "didn't do it". I bet he had a hard time as a teenager.

William Hare = pubes Grin😂 oh lord

These names are fantastic!

If my surname was Disney I would have to use Walter/Walt also.

Wouldn’t pick Reggie and Ronnie if my surname was Kay though 😆

notacooldad · 07/06/2019 15:01

We have a female relative whose surname is Taylor. Her first name is a nice fairly common for a young woman but should never under any circumstances be put with the second name.
I'm not making it up and I was shocked when I was introduced her.
