Seems most people associate the name with happy connotations- sunshine, blue skies etc so it’s pretty much a winner as a name

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 08/06/2019 20:02

Love Summer- Summy is very cute- only for those born in summer imo

Mollie85 · 08/06/2019 19:41

Adore this name - also like Somer

formerbabe · 08/06/2019 19:39

Love it. Cassie and Summer is a cute combination.

Clownfish123 · 08/06/2019 18:55

I love it

Astronica · 07/06/2019 22:53

I think it's lovely.

Murine · 07/06/2019 22:49

I really like it, DD2 was almost Summer. It would’ve suited her too!

firstimemamma · 07/06/2019 13:18

I love it, one of my favourite girls' names Smile

anitagreen · 07/06/2019 12:53

Reading these all through I think I will go with this name still a long way off yet of even finding out if it's a girl but if it is she will be Summer. Thanks Everyone x

Pinkvoid
Bit of an excessive reaction to a name. You're entitled to your opinion but there are nicer ways to express it.

Pinkvoid · 07/06/2019 10:32

Hate it, really tacky.

Penny4Thoughts · 07/06/2019 09:41

@Sessy19 the May I know said it’s incredibly irritating being constantly asked when her birthday is by every person she meets

albus55 · 07/06/2019 09:38

I have a Summer and have only ever had positive comments about it. It's a happy sunshine-y name and it reflects her personality perfectly. The only person that has ever shortened it is a 2 year old who calls her Sum Sum which is cute from a 2 year old who can't yet say Summer but it won't stick as an actual nickname!

My husband picked the name and was adamant on it where I wasn't 100% convinced at first. Now I love it, it suits her perfectly and I can't imagine her being called anything else.

Raaaaaah · 07/06/2019 09:00

Love it and know a lovely Summer. Always called Summer and never abbreviated.

Predestined00 · 07/06/2019 08:58

Absolutely love this name and it has great connotations. It'd be interesting to see exactly why people don't like this name, I'm intrigued?

CatSmize · 07/06/2019 00:07

I love it and definitely wouldn't only use it for a summer-born baby. When I think of all the people I know and their characteristics, when they were born is probably the last thing that comes to mind.

DramaAlpaca · 06/06/2019 23:45

I don't like it as a name at all.

Watersnail · 06/06/2019 23:42

Summer is a lovely name.

KinderSurpriseBump · 06/06/2019 22:48

I know a Summer Rose. Very happy child.

Ohyesiam · 06/06/2019 22:17

Beautiful name,

Shadow1234 · 06/06/2019 22:14

Lovely name.

Walkamileinmyshoesbeforeujudge · 06/06/2019 21:15

The only one I knew was bloody awful!

qj17 · 06/06/2019 21:15

I think it's nice!

Sessy19 · 06/06/2019 21:14

@PurpleDragons....hardly a life changing drama to have to retell though, is it!!

Summer is a name. I don’t think it needs to be quantified with birthdates.

‘Ooh, Summer. Cool name. Is your birthday in the Summer?’

‘My birthday is in December, so it’s Summer in the Southern Hemisphere, but that’s kinda irrelevant. Bye!’

sianyb83 · 06/06/2019 21:14

I know a little girl called summer - lovely name!
