We’re somehow only two months away from meeting our little girl and I’d ideally like to shorten our list before she arrives.

Opinions on these names to help us do that please? Florence, Mabel, Beatrice, Beatrix and Lucia. Big sister is Violet. Thanks!

I like Lucia. I don't think the pronunciation is a real problem. You may have to correct a few people upon introduction but that can happen with virtually any name.

BadTigerKitty · 04/06/2019 12:29

Mabel by a mile. Mabel and Violet sound brilliant together.

Harebel · 04/06/2019 12:26

Beatrix is amazing! Smile

Disfordarkchocolate · 04/06/2019 10:49

I love Lucia, it's a beautiful name.

Jessi88 · 04/06/2019 10:44

@Marinkazurie We did consider Viola for Violet Smile

Thank you, @Iamgoingtobehonestwithyou.

@lucymegan We like both the Loo-See-Ah and Loo-Chee-Ah pronunciations but I’m not a fan of Loo-Sha. I’m most familiar with Loo-Chee-Ah however. Pronunciation is a slight concern of mine. I don’t see myself minding having to correct people and think we could perhaps shorten it to help too (Chi for Chee-Ah or Ci/CiCi for See-AH). It’s not my name to wear though and I wonder if it’d be a pain for her to wear a name with so many pronunciations.

I like Lucia or Florence

lucymegan · 03/06/2019 21:14

Is Lucia pronounced Lucy-a?

I love Mable and violet the best 💜

Iamgoingtobehonestwithyou · 03/06/2019 20:54

I have Mabel lined up for my second (if I have another and she is a girl). I think it's a beautiful name. I think the old lady aspect only adds to its coolness.

Out of your remaining choices I must say that I love them all. I am biased though as we had each one on our final list for our daughter Grin. We ended up calling her something different when we met her.

Her name is quite popular and is also known as an old lady name.

Your choices are much nicer in my opinion to the Amelia's, Clara's, Sophia's, Grace's Olivia's and hyphen Rose names. Perfectly nice names just not my style.

Once you meet her you will know which one suits her most.

Lobsterquadrille2 · 03/06/2019 20:49

Beatrice or Florence. As PPs have said, Lucia is tricky because of the different pronunciations. I know a Lu-see-a and a Lu-chee-a.

Layoverlife · 03/06/2019 20:42

Lucia 👌🏼

MikeUniformMike · 03/06/2019 20:22

Mabel

Jessi88 · 03/06/2019 20:19

@BoudicasBoudoir Love that!

Florence - love it

BoudicasBoudoir · 03/06/2019 20:12

Where I live, Violet Road is between Florence Road and Mabel Grove, so I think either of those two are natural siblings!

Icklepup · 03/06/2019 19:39

I like Beatrice

iemma321q · 03/06/2019 19:36

I love Florence or Beatrice

SoftBlocks · 03/06/2019 19:33

Lucia or Florence.

Usuallyinthemiddle · 03/06/2019 19:32

Mabel or Beatrice are lovely!

Marinkazurie · 03/06/2019 19:29

@Jessi88

I would vote for Violet & Lucia then. Violet is ''viola'' in Italian, so I just think they go well together :)

Jessi88 · 03/06/2019 19:26

The Italian way, @Marinkazurie

Peachbubble · 03/06/2019 19:20

Mabel or Beatrix

Marinkazurie · 03/06/2019 19:20

Are you pronouncing Lucia as in the Italian way, loo-chee-a, or like St Lucia?

SpeckledyHen · 03/06/2019 19:20

Beatrice is my fave . Personally wouldn’t like Florence as she would inevitably be called Flo :(

clpsmum · 03/06/2019 19:20

Beatrice or Beatrix

Marinkazurie · 03/06/2019 19:19

Violet & Beatrix OR Violet & Lucia
