My dad is Alastair. He's in his 70's. I love it, think it's timeless.

Fulltimemummy85 · 06/06/2019 12:13

Love the name, it will be on my list

Backhometothenorth · 05/06/2019 22:25

Hobbesmanc · 05/06/2019 14:02

Its a great classless timeless age- like Alexander. Deffo a good choice

Astronica · 05/06/2019 06:44

I find Alistair to be a fairly timeless name. I know a baby Alistair, a young adult and an older man.

RuthW · 03/06/2019 18:41

Anything between 75-5.

Clettercletterthatsbetter · 03/06/2019 12:19

I know two. One is 3, and the other is in his late 60s!

Anerak · 03/06/2019 08:07

I think of my uncle - 50ish

weebarra · 03/06/2019 08:07

I've got one. He's 8. He's an Alasdair. I know 3 in their 60's and 2 in their 40's. Obviously I think it's a great name.

Ch3rryTree · 03/06/2019 08:06

Isn't one of Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster's teenage boys an Alastair?

LegoPiecesEverywhere · 03/06/2019 08:05

30s or 40s

LoveYourHome9 · 03/06/2019 01:41

I know two. One in is 60s, one in his 40s.

I do see this name coming back for a revival though. Especially in Scotland.

Ihatemyseleffordoingthis · 03/06/2019 01:19

I know 4 who are in their 50s (one an Al), 1 aged 12, none younger (NW)

BasiliskStare · 03/06/2019 01:10

Could be any age - I agree - timeless.

Chocmallows · 03/06/2019 01:08

50, but I just don't know any younger ones.

PissOffPeppa · 03/06/2019 01:07

50

DramaAlpaca · 03/06/2019 01:06

I think it's ageless. I don't actually know any, so have no preconceived ideas about the name. I like it a lot.

AJPTaylor · 02/06/2019 23:04

South East. My lovely nephew who is 26

badg3r · 02/06/2019 23:02

septembersunshine · 02/06/2019 18:21

I know one. He is 5 and also goes by Al. Its a good name!

BikeRunSki · 02/06/2019 18:05

Any age.

My favourite is actually an Alasdair, he is mid 40s.

AmyMaria2 · 02/06/2019 18:02

50+

DestinyIsCallingMe · 02/06/2019 17:53

People may associate the name with an older age because the only people they have come across with the name are that age - but that doesn’t mean they won’t like it on a child if they meet one.

DestinyIsCallingMe · 02/06/2019 17:52

The only ones I’m aware of are aged 50+ - colleagues and then politicians like Alastair Campbell and Alastair Darling. So I instantly associate it with an older age.

But it’s a great name, and I’m sure I’d get used to it on a child pretty quickly if I met one.

Sophronia · 02/06/2019 16:59

I’d guess 40s.
