Opinions on girls name shortlist

Hi, I’m really struggling with girls names. I would like a name that works well for a child as well as an adult that isn’t too common (although I appreciate that my names are a bit average) We have a difficult to pronounce surname so don’t want anything to difficult to spell or say. What do you think? Any other suggestions are also welcome

Iris
Felicity
Charlotte
Emily
Erin
Robyn
Fern
Georgia

Iris stands out miles against the rest of them.

Felicity is very square.

Pinkvoid · 05/06/2019 14:32

I only like Iris. Charlotte is ok but too plain and I’m not a fan of the others.

OhMyDarling · 03/06/2019 23:43

Hate Fern and Robyn!
Like Emily as it’s classic.

Whoops75 · 03/06/2019 23:36

I like Felicity and Georgia best from your longer list and Fern best from your shortlist. Erin is very very popular in my area so if you don't want something too common I'd avoid that one.

Cardboardeaux · 03/06/2019 15:11

Iris - lovely
Felicity - really like, but I always think it's a shame when people shorten it to "Flick" as Felicity is so pretty (I like the meaning, too - happiness Smile)
Charlotte - beautiful, but not keen on Lotty as nn
Emily - lovely
Erin - lovely
Robyn - ok but not to my taste (although I do like Robin for a boy)
Fern - dislike
Georgia - nice, prettier than Georgina IMO

Thanks for the comments and suggestions, a lot of the suggestions have already been used by friends and family. I’m leaving towards Erin, Fern or Iris. Although DH can’t get on board with Iris so we’ll see. Just need to pick find a middle name and then I’m there!

I love Fern!

Tillygetsit · 02/06/2019 22:34

Fern is beautiful. Very soft and pretty without being twee. I also really like Iris and Robyn. Great list!

Jossina · 02/06/2019 22:19

I love Fern because I watch too much Arthur with the kids and it's the name of a lovely character. Felicity is nice as well (Arrow). I think I need to back away from the television.

Shadow1234 · 02/06/2019 22:15

Erin and Robyn are my favourite two

hellomellowyellow87 · 02/06/2019 18:25

Erin- meh
Robyn- no
Fern- really don’t like it!!
Georgia- I think this will date

AmyMaria2 · 02/06/2019 18:23

Iris very dated
Felicity don't like flick
Charlotte it's ok and Lottie is nice as a nn
Emily very boring
Erin nice, pretty name
Robyn little bit try hard
Fern horrible sound & harsh name
Georgia ok not great

Erin is my favourite from your list.

daisypond · 02/06/2019 15:05

Well, I think it’s a bit...odd. I similarly object to names like India. Erin isn’t as obvious, though. Lots of people see nothing awry, however, so maybe it’s just me.

Zarara · 02/06/2019 14:16

Some good suggestions, it’s so hard to narrow them down
